Manjaro i3 Edition not booting

After I installed a fresh install of Manjaro i3 edition on my PBP's emmc using manjaro-arm-installer, it no longer boots. I was using i3 edition previously for over a year with absolutely no issues. My PBP doesn't show an amber light or boot in to the bios after pressing the power button. It is completely dead. It boots fine from emmc, SD card and USB drive using other editions of Manjaro and if I install i3 edition on SD card or USB, I get the same issue. So it seems there is an issue with the i3 edition itself and not the PBP or the SD card and thumb drives. Sway boots and runs fine, but I'm attached to i3. I noticed on the manjaro-arm-flasher, i3 isn't even an option, only sway so it's possible i3 isn't supported but hasn't been removed as an option from the manjaro-arm-installer? There also isn't an option for i3 download directly from Manjaro website either, only sway. I made a backup and still have my old i3 config file, so I guess I can give sway a go if i3 is a no go!

I did another install of i3 and paid closer attention to the install process. It seems like i3 edition is not supported any more. Manjaro-arm-installer does not pull packages from the repositories during the install. The reason the PBP is not booting is because the installer is not pulling the files needed to build the boot partition or the root partition for that matter so I am just winding up with a blank emmc. Can anyone confirm this?

I just received a series of RP64 units from AmeriDroid.
I placed one into the NAS case with Armbian on a 32GB eMMC chip. Boots properly and finalizes the install. Ran through updates and all seems well.
Moved the eMMC chip to the second board - nothing but the green power LED on power up.
Moved the eMMC chip to the third board - nothing but the green power LED on power up.
I've attempted the POWER-RESET gambit on both non-booting boards.
I've returned the eMMC chip to the first board and all is fine.
Removed the boards from the NAS enclosures, same result.
Burned a 32GB µSD card with the same Armbian image and jumpered the eMMC disable jumper
Still power LED, but nothing else.
Are there some bad boards out there?

Keyboard backlight and logo on laptop cover!?

Has anyone tried to add backlight to the keyboard? Are there any plans to add one to shipped units?
I'm asking because I'm used to work in a completely dark room, with dark desktop themes. The reason is long exposure to natural or artificial light hurt my eyes, but I need to have the keyboard backlight activated at all times.
Also I'd love to have the Pine logo carved on the Pinebook cover illuminated with the same light as the screen, just like the MacBook Air. Has anyone tried that as also as a DIY customization. I'd bet that could attract attention of Mac users that might end up buying one Pinebook to support the project.

Modem won't register?

Several times now I have found that the modem loses registration, then won't register. Once I solved it by flipping the modem switch on the back off and back on, then rebooting. Once I have solved it by merely rebooting.
Running mmcli -m any --3gpp-scan times out, whether the modem is registered or not. When not registered, running mmcli -m any --command='AT+CREG' returns ' '. Similar results trying to do it through modem-manager-gui.
This is on a PP beta edition, Mobian Bookworm/Phosh, haven't changed the modem firmware from what it shipped with.
Any ideas what might be causing this intermittent issue, and how to stop it?
Edited to add: Settings and modem-manager-gui agree that the modem isn't registered, but I still have data, can ping google.com. I am using a Pure Talk SIM.

Bleachbit : from the Mobian onboard software store installs both user and root in just one install.
However only the user part part will open and work.?
Is there an easy work around, or just wait for the developers to get it working ?

Will the PineNote have handwriting recognition software?
it would be useful if it could do something like Palm Pilot graffiti or like Windows PocketPC 3 ways to recognize handwriting. This would replace the need for a keyboard for my use.

How do I disable autologin on TwisterOS? |

I know this is really basic, but how does one disable autologin in TwisterOS? I can't find any instructions for either the GUI or the CLI to do this anywhere. I don't like the security risk of it auto-logging me in every time I turn on my Pinebook Pro.
Thank you!

Hello,
I've been using the PineBook almost daily since it arrived in April, and I used
to shutdown it every day, since the standby isn't really a standby, the battery
drained too fast.
But since 4 days the PineBook won't startup anymore. The green LED turns on,
but nothing else happens. Since 2 days, even the green LED wön't turn on
anymore, until one time today.
What I've tried so far:
- press the reset and recovery button
- press the on-button for 10+ seconds (this made the green LED turn on again, but only once)
- disable the eMMC
- disconnect the battery and connect the bypass cables
Is there anything left I could try?

basic and ugly mpc-python-GTK3 mpd remote

I could not find any mpd remote for phosh (some GTK desktop client do the job, but they're not appropriate to a mobile device), so here is a simple python file to perform basic actions (play, stop, pause, next, previous, enable/disable outputs). It relies on mpc to act with the server. One has to change the login string of the script with the right passwd and IP (let a space at the end). If you know about a real app that does the job, tell me. If you ever write one, i would try it . At home, the outputs i want to control are numbered 2 and 3 : change that according to your wishes…
