  Pine A64 +OS X
Posted by: sh2 - 12-10-2015, 05:35 PM - Forum: General Discussion on PINE A64(+) - Replies (13)

Does anyone here (not associated with Pine A64) think there would be a way to run OS X on Pine A64 via a microSD?

I plan to use it to analyze data (using R).

Anyone else plan on trying their Pine64 for retrogaming?

I hope to get EmulationStation on it, and make an image for it.  Smile

has there been any testing to determine average boot up times in Linux and android?

  Amazed at this concept

This idea is beyond going to take off! Congrats on what is the future of computing!

  A few (hopefully) simple questions...
Posted by: Jake - 12-10-2015, 01:33 PM - Forum: General Discussion on PINE A64(+) - Replies (9)

Let's assume I am running a PINE64 with Ubuntu...

1. Will it be possible to run Windows apps with an appropriate emulator?
2. Will it be possible to run 2 (or more) PINE64  boards in parallel?

That's all for now...

TIA Jake

  Vision Processing

I'm not sure if this is better posted in hardware or software, but...

How does the Pine A compare with the Raspberry Pi in terms of vision processing?  I tried a simple OpenCV blob tracking example with the Pi, and it gave an unacceptable framerate of 5-7 FPS.  Can we expect a better framerate with the Pine (20-30 FPS)?

Where will system images be hosted for download?

I presume that they'll be made available - but from whence, and when?
I would imagine that official torrents will be an option as well?

Thanks for reading, and am looking forward to trying out this spiffy little guy Smile

Someone have knowledge about this?

Kind Regards
Glen

  PXE-Like Boot?
Posted by: BostonBay - 12-09-2015, 09:46 PM - Forum: Pine A64 Projects, Ideas and Tutorials - Replies (10)

Can the PINE 64 boot from a TFTP server or NFS Share?

For example, could a bootstrap be placed on the micro-SD that would boot a Linux OS over the network?  The bootstrap on the SD card would be simple and rarely change.  The Linux OS on the TFTP or NFS share could be dynamic.

Thanks!
