  Quick Android Question
Posted by: jl_678 - 01-25-2016, 07:06 AM - Forum: Android on Pine A64(+) - Replies (5)

I am a Pine64 backer with a primary focus on a Linux home server use case.  However, I am also wondering whether I should get a second Pine64 for an Android use case.  That said, I have a super simple question that occurred to me last night.

Dose Android require a local monitor/screen? In other words, do you have to have a direct connected monitor and mouse to use Android on a Pine?  In Linux, I typically access the system either via remote a CLI through SSH or a remote desktop through VNC.  Does Android have those same concepts and is it easy to setup and run?  Having to have display hardware for a Pine64 Android instance is more than I can manage right now.

Thank you!

  Cluster capable?
Posted by: W1SPY - 01-25-2016, 03:24 AM - Forum: Cluster Computing - Replies (7)

Wondering if clustering can be done? Probably not easily and meticulous. To be able to make a cluster of 32 of these things working together would be amazing.

I know it's ambitious being as though it hasnt even shipped yet, gotta dream big.

Heart CyanogenMod
Posted by: Danton - 01-25-2016, 02:40 AM - Forum: Android on Pine A64(+) - Replies (12)

Good morning fellow members!

First of all I want to say that I'm not linux developer of some sort.

But I am interested in getting CyanogenMod to the Pine A64.

I found the following page which suggests it can be done:
http://linux-sunxi.org/CyanogenMod

I read that there will be Android 6 support? So that means CyanogenMod 13?

What do you guys think?

  Using fastboot

Is it possible to use fastboot on the PINE64 to flash new images to SD card?

  LCD panel compatibility?
Posted by: Glychee - 01-24-2016, 06:22 PM - Forum: LCD and Touch Panel - Replies (1)

Another website carries the lcd panel FY07024DI26A30-1-fpc1_a , which is almost the same model number as the panel you are going to be providing, FY07024DI26A30-D
Are they interchangeable?
I can't find a datasheet for the one I'm talking about so I can't compare pinout, but I think you might have contact with the manufacturer?
I really want my panel here on time to start experimenting.

Question What exactly is a Euler Bus?
Posted by: Ghost - 01-24-2016, 03:42 PM - Forum: Pi2, Euler and Exp GPIO Ports - Replies (10)

This question came up on the kickstarter comments page, if anyone could give a brief (or detailed) explanation of what the Euler Bus is and does, that would be great.

Question Solid Model/Accurate Blueprint
Posted by: User 563 - 01-24-2016, 02:49 PM - Forum: Enclosures - Replies (12)

Saw some mention of dimensions in the 'Cases and Enclosure Question' thread, but I'm hoping for a nominal dimension solid model if possible, or at least a good print to work from. I'm a machinist by trade and want to try a few enclosure designs and the one REV B drawing is only for outer board dimensions which isn't going to do it. I want to be able to design and machine aluminum cases with integrated standoffs and the like.

Will a non-STL* model be available sometime soon? I would like to start designing before the board arrives in March.

*(hopefully something like a STEP or IGES solid model, or dare I say SolidWorks)
