Posted by: blanius - 06-25-2016, 07:27 PM - Forum: Getting Started - Replies (7)

After repeated attempts I have been unable to create an SD card for my PINE64

Pheonix card gives some weird error, So tried WindiskImager it fails.... Pulling my hair out.

Using Windows 10 PCs

FYI I have been able to create bootable cards for multiple Pi's, PCDuino's and others without a problem

how to use USB hard disk as /(root)
Posted by: hatahata - 06-25-2016, 06:51 PM - Forum: Debian - Replies (15)

hi all .

i usually use hard disk as root .
i think   hard disk is more tough than sd card  and the space of it is over 250GB or more .

for example banana pi M1 , root is /dev/sda1

Code:
head /boot/boot.cmd
if ext4load mmc 0 0x00000000 /boot/.verbose
then
setenv verbosity 7
else
setenv verbosity 1
fi
setenv bootargs "console=tty1 root=/dev/sda1 rootwait rootfstype=ext4 cgroup_enable=memory swapaccount=1 hdmi.audio=EDID:0 disp.screen0_output_mode=1920x1080p60 panic=10 consoleblank=0 enforcing=0 loglevel=${verbosity}"

but
at pine64's debian  , surely there are files in /boot  but they are binaly files  so i do not do anythig , i give up .
only develover knows how to  , so i think .
regards

Help! My Ubuntu is booting to "press enter for maintenance"
Posted by: melao - 06-25-2016, 06:04 PM - Forum: Ubuntu - Replies (1)

For some reason my pine is booting to the following:

press enter for maintenance
(or type Control-D to continue):

I am using "xubuntu-xenial-mate-20160528-longsleep-pine64-8GB "

I thought that maybe it could be a runlevel problem, but I cannot find /etc/inittab  and I tried using init 2, but it does not work.

I also tried fsck -y , but the system is mounted, and I dont dont know what I can and cannot unmount :/

Please help. I dont want to reconfigure the whole system again :/

wood is easy to treat , and I hole acryl plate by small drill for metal and then bigger drill for metall .

if all plates are made by wood , the cost is cheaper ,
but the upper plate should be made by acryl plate at the point of it's beautifulness .

Unmet dependencies/held broken packages while trying to install kodi
Posted by: fencerjared - 06-25-2016, 06:00 AM - Forum: Ubuntu - Replies (2)

w'm trying to install Kodi 16, every step up to sudo apt-get install kodi works fine. When I try that step, I get this error:

Code:
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kodi : Depends: kodi-bin (>= 2:16.1~git20160425.1001-final-0xenial) but 15.2+dfsg1-3ubuntu1 is to be installed
Depends: libshairplay0 but it is not installable
Recommends: libva-intel-vaapi-driver but it is not installable or
i965-va-driver but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
When I try sudo apt-get build-dep kodi, I get the same error with different specified packages:
Code:
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
builddeps:kodi : Depends: dcadec-dev but it is not installable
Depends: libplatform-dev but it is not installable
Depends: libshairplay-dev but it is not installable

I can't seem to install any of these packages independently, installer can't locate them, I'm not sure where else I would get them, supposedly they should be in the kodi repository. Tried sudo dpkg --configure -a, sudo apt-get --fix-broken install, sudo apt-get dist-upgrade, at different points . Any ideas?
