  Pin64 as screenless Audio receiver
Posted by: Myszaks - 01-26-2017, 04:34 AM - Forum: Pine A64 Projects, Ideas and Tutorials - Replies (1)

My idea would be to connect Pine to a hifi and than to be able to stream music from pc/smartphone to it wirelessly. Best if it wouldnt need a lot of setting on sender side so if friends come they could just connect and stream.
What would be the best way to set this thing up if it is possible?

Hi,

I just received my Pin64+ (2GB) board and touchscreen and after mounting in the C4 labs case am very pleased.

Also happy to see that I'm not running into the Gb ethernet issue:

Through switch:

As I want to use this for audio (usb out to external dac), one of my main priorities is to keep power line noise (ripple) as low as possible, including on the ethernet and usb ports. I will certainly implement the Pi filter arrangement mentioned in a power supply thread on the forum, but am sure that I have also seen mention of the possibility to add a better 3.3v regulator at the pads here.  Unfortunately I've lost the thread where this was discussed.  I have a suitable ultra low nopise 5v - 3.3v regulator and would love to try the mod, if anyone can point me to the discussion of how it is done.  Obviously the new regulator needs soldering in correctly, but the old regulatory circuit must also be disconnected.  Does anyone have any clues/pointers?

 BR.

  Can't install Plex Media Server
Posted by: greig - 01-25-2017, 03:11 PM - Forum: Remix OS - No Replies

Hello all,

I tried installing Plex Media Server for Android on Remix OS from an apk but I just got a "There is a problem parsing the package" error. Running latest Remix OS.

Is there a way to debug this? Has anyone managed to install it?

PMS installed marvelously on my Android Phone.

Thanks

Bug How to get syncthing to actually start syncing
Posted by: Pander - 01-25-2017, 10:31 AM - Forum: Ubuntu - Replies (4)

I am using syncthing on many different devices without any problems. On PINE64 with Ubuntu Xenial and longsleep's kernel I installed syncthing from https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing/r....21.tar.gz It start and I can connect to other devices but the actual syncing is not starting. Is this an ethernet problem or could it be something else? How do I go about finding the cause and fixing it? Are there people here that got it working and if so, how? Thanks

  Corrupt SD Card?
Posted by: CaptainCWA - 01-24-2017, 09:31 PM - Forum: Android on Pine A64(+) - Replies (13)

Hello, I'm new to the Pine64.  I just recently received my first board and set it up a few days ago.

When I first tried Android Lollipop (5.1.1) it started up fine, but then refused to ever wake up when I put the screen to sleep.  So I tried Android 6.0.  It seems to run just fine and wakes up the screen from sleep correctly, but I'm baffled by another odd behavior: Every time I boot, it tells me the SD Card is corrupt as a notification.  I am using brand-new Sandisk 32 GB cards.  It did it with the 32 GB image, and even with the 8 GB image.

This is what it shows as a notification:

This is on the Storage & USB screen under Settings:

I have no idea what "volumn" is either.  No other USB storage device is connected.

As a test I tried to have it "fix" my card.  It suggested a format, which I let it try.  It failed with a truly bizarre error message (I could not capture), and then as I expected, the card refused to boot afterward.  I had to go and re-image it.

Any ideas as to why it thinks my card is always corrupt?  Any suggested way I can fix it?  Should that "volumn" be concerning?  (Please note I am very new to UNIX / Linux, so please explain any steps you suggest I do.)

Thanks.

Stuck after getting connected to Internet
Posted by: Zettai - 01-24-2017, 02:42 PM - Forum: Getting Started - Replies (3)

Hi all

I am having problems with my Pine64. I have followed all the steps, but once I connect the board to the internet, via the WiFI module or the ethernet cable, it stops working.
There is absolutely nothing I can do, the screen goes grey or black and that is all.

I can disconnect the cable and then try again and it will work, but as soon as I reconnect... gone.

Is there anything I can do?

I will appreciate any information you can give me Smile

(I'm trying the Android 6.0 IMG - I have a Pine 2GB board and I have tried other OS and the same happens)

Many thanks,

red led + cat5 lights but noshow on DHCP list, no video
Posted by: mckenna.tim - 01-24-2017, 11:35 AM - Forum: Getting Started - Replies (1)

After doing ALL the recommended moves on sdcard stuff, power supply stuff and hdmi cable stuff I still can't find my board anywhere, no HDMI, noshow on DHCP lists. and THEN tried a 3rd HDMI cable.  But I have blinking network lights and a solid red. Its a 1gig board, i've tried debian and ubuntu.<s> Its too bad. </s>I like the idea of a 64bit board, I could run MongoDB on it and other things the Pi just can't do. Maybe if I had my mac address I could find it.

Third HDMI Cable worked got me a screen, /sbin/ifconfig got me my ip and mac address. I changed my lyksys router so instead of being among the nameless 'network device"s, I've got it to associate that mac address with "pine64" Hooray, I'm glad I revisited this, I had almost put it aside for good.

  Dual cluster with video bridge.
Posted by: Omnios - 01-24-2017, 11:33 AM - Forum: P64-LTS / SOPINE Projects, Ideas and Tutorials - No Replies

I am not sure if this is possible but am asking if it is possible to combine two Sopine a64 's with a video bridge to use both video on chipsets as one similar to a graphics card bridge. Looking at the Sopine it may be possible to design a bridge board to so so. I am interested if seeing if this is possible.

Sad I cant connect to the network.
Posted by: MasahiroSakashita - 01-24-2017, 02:42 AM - Forum: Windows 10 IoT - Replies (3)

Hello.

I installed Windows 10 IoT Core on PINE 64.
The following problems occurred.
For writing the Win10 IoT Core image to the SD card,
I used WindowsIoTCoreImageHelper.

1) If you reboot after setup, the OS will not start up.
2) Even if you connect the ethernet directly to the ethernet port, can not connect to the network.
Even if you connect the USB ethernet adapter via the USB hub to the USB port,
OS can recognize the USB device but can not connect to the network.

Please tell me the cause and solution.
Thank you.
