It does not show up. Remember I'm using the recommended Chromium Browser extension. Not the Chromium OS.

It should still show up. I use Chromium in my Manjaro install, and the apps I install are available through my menu, and can be added to the dock. If they don't appear on their own, or are just hard too find (sometimes the app category is WAY off) you also go to the Extensions page in Chromium, right click on SKype, and select Create Shortcut. That will put it in the Menu and make it available to put into the dock/panel.

see attached.

Perhaps it's a DE specific package that makes them available. I believe you have it installed, but I'm curious why it doesn't show in you apps menu.

because it's a Chrome extension and not an application.

If that's the case, I'd love to know why all of my Chrome extensions/apps are available in the app menu of my Manjaro Gnome3 install. Even the Text and IRC client apps for ChromiumOS show up until I turn them off on the extensions page.

As a quick example, I'm attaching a screenshot that shows Chrome Remote Desktop (no longer stand alone, Chrome extension only) in the extensions page, and my panel/dock.

Doesn’t seem to work - I get a “audio and video not supported by your browser” error bot in web version and as a plugin but works fine in Firefox. Anybody know why this can be? (This is Debian)

Several months later, I'm using a Skype Pidgin plugin.

Are you able to get video chat working with pidgin?

No, Skype4Pidgin does not support video or audio chat at all.

I also researched this a bit, and while using https://web.skype.com with Chromium is no issue at all for text chat, there seems to be no way to make it work with video/audio chat.

Edit: See message below, with useragent spoofing in Firefox Skype Web seems to work.

Maybe in the future there might be a way to use the Android version with Anbox, but right now Anbox does not support passing through the camera either AFAIK.

Is it possible to install Skype via flatpak or snap for aarch64?

:: I can confirm that Skype video and messaging is working in Firefox with the Skype add-on that bypasses the browser support. Use web.Skype.com
