I received the 14" pinebook today from DHL SYABAS Technology HK Ltd;  in wonderful shape;  shipping and packaging state-of-the-art with all cables, power supply, and ethernet dongle.

I am very impressed with this product;  can't say enough--  TLLim (and team) you've done a great job, very nice !

Everything has worked on this Ubuntu 16.04.4  gnu+linux system; from the camera to the ethernet, and everything in-between. Its been charging since late this afternoon now up to 76% quite cool and performing well.  The system is snappy, the screen is bright and clear, and the keyboard and touch pad are resilient and responsive -- fabulous.

The touch pad is 9.6cm x 6.4cm  with 11.4cm diagonal.   The 14" keyboard is a full keyboard with touch and responsiveness similar to the apple keyboard, and with the single exception of the  \|  key (between the right ALT and the <--Home arrow) is the standard U.S. keyboard most American users have become used to.

The above pic is of the keyboard from the 11.6" pinebook.  The layout is somewhat different from the 14" model.  This pic is provided with thanks from lukasz.

True gnu+linux aficionados will note that the ctrl-alt-Fx sequences DO NOT bring up the black screen fbcon(s).  With minor exceptions (htop, nano) everything you would expect to be present is there in the system out-of-box;  very nice actually exceptional.

My expectations were blown away;  no, its not a mac book pro, nor is it a mac book pro price !  However,  the build quality exceeded my expectations as did the functionality and overall quality ( the Pine Team has outdone themselves, really )

The unit looks great, feels great, and except for the noted exceptions (read above for sound fix) works flawlessly out-of-box as a wonderful little gnu+linux notebook computer.

wow.

It works in the 11", ctrl+alt+F7 to go back to X also. -> I had to use it after crashing the mousepad driver trying to have natural scrolling as this option is not available.... will fix this later today and inform how to..

I have got my 11" yesterday, and have same issue, didnt had the chance to check, but almost sure this is related to lack of hardware acceleration in Linux. I have seen it before when Ubuntu changed to Unity and only NVIDIA was supported.

The 14"  does not appear to have this problem at all;  ubuntu image is clear, distinct, and bright;  no flashing issues and no artifacts on the screen.

I received my invitation for the 11" on April 26 and promptly paid for it via paypal and got an order confirmation.

Today, on the 27th I got a message that the 11" are out of stock but it appears to be a general message.   Does this mean that there is an 11" model with my name on it already in the queue or does this mean that I didn't make the cutoff and I need to reorder a 14" model?

Thanks!

I can confirm that the issue is software related. Will keep you posted. Also, apparently affects only 11" units
