Sad Version/Date of last armbian build that came with network patches?
Posted by: Bazmundi - 12-07-2023, 03:23 PM - Forum: Clusterboard - No Replies

Hi,  trying to unweave what was the last version of armbian with network patches included, to get around problems with network on SOPINE running on clusterboard.  This has been a struggle with multiple references to "current" from what are now stale help topics.  Not forgetting to mention that the "current" version of armbian for the SOPINE 64 is failing its build Big Grin .

Is there therefore a version /date of a distro that is known provide a pain free setup please?  That is, a version/date that has patches in and known to work?  Links perhaps please?

Understanding building a version is an option, is there therefore a full package list scratched out to use when building a minimum CLI version of armbian for the SOPINE on clusterboard please?  A list with all the right patches included?

Cheers,
B

Manjaro 20.04 not loading from SD (with Manjaro on eMMC)
Posted by: zaius - 12-06-2023, 12:48 PM - Forum: Linux on Pinebook Pro - Replies (1)

I have Manjaro installed on the eMMC.  I used the Manjaro-ARM-xfce-pbpro-20.04-emmc-installer-20.04.img from OSDN, and then updated it.

Since then I've been able to try various operating systems on SD (eg. Ubuntu, Debian), but I can't seem to run Manjaro-ARM-xfce-pbpro-20.04.img from SD.

It's not simply that they are both Manjaro.  Manjaro-ARM-gnome-pbpro-23.02.img on SD loads.

Is there a way I can get Manjaro-ARM-xfce-pbpro-20.04.img to load without opening the computer and physically switching off the eMMC?

When I try to run Manjaro-ARM-xfce-pbpro-20.04.img off SD, the computer runs Manjaro off the eMMC and the SD shows as an external drive.

The reasons I want to run Manjaro-ARM-xfce-pbpro-20.04.img from SD is so I can update and configure it so I have back up in case the eMMC fails, and also have system where I can try things without breaking the OS on eMMC.

(Using Manjaro-ARM-xfce-pbpro-23.02.img from Manjaro's site instead wouldn't work because HDMI via USB-C only seems to work with the OSDN images.)

Any ideas?

  Detecting when charging and discharging
Posted by: phobios - 12-04-2023, 01:05 PM - Forum: Arch Linux on PinePhone - Replies (4)

I tried using /sys/class/power_supply/axp20x-battery/status to deduce whether my phone was in charging or discharging mode. My goal is to write a script that can notify me when electricity is out. However, it seems that status goes to Discharging when it reaches 100%. Is there another way I can detect if I have a power cable with electricity plugged in to my device that works better than checking the status on the battery as I do above?

[Article] RISC-V Ox64 BL808: UART Interrupt and Platform-Level Interrupt Controller
Posted by: lupyuen - 12-02-2023, 05:11 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Our article today is all about RISC-V Interrupts on the tiny adorable Pine64 Ox64 BL808 64-bit Single-Board Computer (based on Bouffalo Lab BL808 SoC)…

(1) What’s inside the Platform-Level Interrupt Controller (PLIC)
(2) Setting up the PLIC at startup
(3) Enabling the PLIC Interrupt for Serial Console
(4) Handling PLIC Interrupts for UART Input

We’ll walk through the steps with a simple barebones operating system: Apache NuttX RTOS (Real-Time Operating System). Though we’ll hit a bumpy journey with our work-in-progress NuttX on Ox64…

(5) Leaky Writes seem to affect adjacent PLIC Registers
(6) Interrupt Claim doesn’t seem to work right

Check out the article:

  PinePhone Dock with laptop?
Posted by: Mikey1977Y2J - 12-02-2023, 11:51 AM - Forum: PinePhone Accessories - Replies (2)

Wondering if anyone can help out. I have a Pinephone and an older version of the dock, however, I am in a remote location and need an ethernet port on my laptop. When plugging in the Pinedock into my laptop, the USB ports seem to work fine, but there is no power on the Ethernet port. Is there any way to make the dock worth on a laptop with Windows 10?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Exclamation Importation taxes
Posted by: jfmojada - 12-01-2023, 12:52 PM - Forum: General Discussion on PineTab - Replies (3)

I have ordered pinetab2 from Spain, for an approximate price of 200 + 50 EUR shipping costs.

The customs service is demanding about 100 EURs of import costs from me... Almost 50% of what was spent on the purchase!!

How can they ask for so much?..., I'm still in shock

various tricks to open the pinephone
Posted by: shengchieh - 12-01-2023, 12:47 PM - Forum: PinePhone Hardware - Replies (3)

What are the various tricks you have to open the pinephone?
In specific, to separate the back cover from the front "brick"
a crack.  [Once I get started, the rest is easy.]

I used to be able to open it.  I have not opened it for over
4 months, so dust, etc, probably settle inside.

The methods I am aware of

1.
Hold the phone upside down, facing your heart.  Put your
right fingernail in the slot and pull toward your right
shoulder.

2.
Hold the phone upside down, facing your heart.  Put a
credit card in the slot and zip right, pulling alittle.

3.
Turn the phone upside down and over, facing desk.  Put
a credit card in the slot.  Slide leftward and pull.
i

Are there any way to clean the slot with the cover on?  I
tried rubbing alcohol and q-tip.

Thank in advanced for any help.
