Hi all. I am trying to find a Rasberry clone to drastically 
modify but remain backwards compatable with the RPi.
My planned redesigns are cutting edge .
My final goal is a slim and cool looking VR / AR harness
that is light and comfy to wear day2day, but still robust and water 
resilient, so I'm looking at RK35xx based SBCs that claim
  an open hardware layout and wiring /connectivity architecture.

Radxa seams to slowly start up their community,
but Pine64 is ready and up and running.

Is there a chance that the Quartz64 physical wiring
 layout layers  will be published? or that someone 
at Pine64 can authorize me to receive such files?

Hello,

I am trying to use the RaspBee ZigBee Module with my P64-LTS and wanted to connect it to uart3 / uart4 on the Euelr bus and power it with the 5V/GND pins on the Euler header. I power my P64 LTS via the 3.5mm Barrel Power and I also connect the official 7"LCD via the DSI connector

The pinout of the module

I wired the module with cables as follows:

Module    Euler

pin  8      pin 24 (uart3 tx)
pin 10     pin 23 (uart3 rx)
pin  2      pin  8 (5V)
pin  6      pin  6 (GND)

As sonn as I plug the power the board produces a "whining noise" and is not booting. The LCD is complete white and the small green LED is flickering and not very bright. As long as I use external 5V supply for the Module and disconnect it from 5V/GND on the Euler bus the board boots normally and I can access the module via the uart.

The Raspberry Pi 4 has two HDMI output, would be cool to use it as monitoring systems or something.

I made a post about browsers on the Pinephone a while ago but it's a bit outdated by now and I obviously wasn't able to test everything by myself. I though maybe we can make a list of browsers and document how well they work together. I will make the start and hope some of you also have something to add later on :D



Browsers I was able to get working.

• Chromium: It works somewhat okay but only with x11 (via XWayland) because Ozone which should enable proper Wayland support is very buggy with the keyboard. Without Ozone you can't type a "@" which is annoying but not a deal breaker, with it I can't even type a "o". In short the Pinephone will render it at a lower resolution to decrease the performance impact caused by XWayland. In my experience it's the only browser that can reliably get out of fullscreen tho so while I dislike Chromium it's currently the best solution I have to watch video online. https://gateway.pinata.cloud/ipfs/QmST4v...e9R56VKwds

• Castor: It's probably debatable and I don't use Gemini but it's awesome that there already is a mobile compatible browser for it and after a lot of fucking around I got it to work once with one version but never again. Luckily it still runs on my Arch testing setup.
  
• Qutebrowser: It may seem strange to you that I include a keyboard driven browser in here but Qutebrowser works damn well. • Midori: Like all WebkitGTK apps this browser runs like shit on the Pinephone but it runs and if you disable JS you can even somewhat use it. It has UI glitches that prevent any searches tho so if then you can only use it as default for GTK apps.
  
• Epiphany: Just don't even try it! I heared some rumors about potential improvmentes in GTK4 but since I haven't seen any source for that I doubt it.
  
• Vivaldi: We have so many great open source browsers so I hate to even imagine someone uses a closed source option within the Linux community but I want to get this list somewhat complete. It works but the UI is absolutely awful for mobile devices and it also seems to use XWayland. • Falkon: The KDE browser for desktop devices which doesn't work that well on mobile devices but it works so it's in this list.
  
• QtWebBrowser: Seems to be a simple browser directly from the Qt team and made for Touch devices but it seems to be more of a thing for tablets since the UI components are far to big and start to stack on top of each other instead of scaling down.
  
• Konqueror: Another KDE browser that seems to also be a swiss army knife for file managment. The main usecase I can see for it is to download websites and view them later which can be really useful at times. It doesn't intentionally scale but the UI is suprisingly mobile friendly by default and you can tweak it quite a bit to fit the screen even better.  I can confirm that it works on Mobian but seems broken on Arch (missing dependency) and it uses KDEWebKit and optionally the long dead KHTML webengine.
  
• Tor Browser: The current official Alpha seems to actually support ARM64 but that's not secure so to get a build rn you can go to the Sourceforge page of TorBrowser Ports. (I haven't done that since I absolutly hate Sourceforge so I can't confirm if the browser actually works but there are videos of it running)
  
• Cog: A Webkit WPE launcher without any GUI that seems to work quite well beside of some reaqlly annoying buggs. Those include absolutly no UI (not even a right click menu) and broken copy paste even with Strg+C/V. It's not technically a browser but I just had to include it since it makes creating Webapps so damn easy with a single command launched via a .desktop file. There also is a small external UI that adds some basic controls called Cogwebrun
  
• W3M: A minimal text based browser (Terminal) that works really well on the Pinephone. In theory w3m-img should also allow it to display images but I wasn't able to get that working nether on Arch nor Mobian.
  

So the worst has happened. The offline Chromium Dino game glitches when it switches from day to night at 700 points, I lose control and die all but 1/50 times. Can I allocate more cache or something? Thanks!

A few months ago I got the KDE edition and now my carrier is dropping support for it and I am having less time to tinker than I would like. So I am selling it. I am based out of NC, USA.

It is the 2Gb variant (so original price was around 150) and I have somehow lost the original cable that came with it, so it includes:

The pinephone
Original box
16 Gb SD card (with Arch installed and default credentials) [eMMC works, but I'm trying to make up for the lost original cable]
non-official USB-C if desired [at no extra cost since it typically comes with one]

I'm asking for USD$100+shipping, but I'm willing to negotiate especially if shipping is outrageous.

Attached are pictures of the phone's exterior, and interior as well as the login page of the distro proving that it works. I can provide more pictures/video upon request.

Note: There is a slight marking on the provided screen protector which is kind of hard to see in the image. It's superficial and doesn't affect functionality and you can remove the plastic coat if you wish.

It drove me crazy not being able to past code into terminal from firefox. Somehow I figured it out. I'm sure there is a more elegant way of doing it but this works.
What ever you want to copy, highlight it. 
bring up keyboard and type  copy  and hit return. 
go to the globe at bottom left of keyboard 
select terminal.
tap on < icon bottom right.
tap on menu
you will see a tab open up 
tap on copy.
ignore page it pops up.
go to terminal
long press on curser
tab will pop up 
tap on past.
As with many thing with pinephone, its a little glitchy, sometimes you will have to do this twice and yes it kind of a pain but its a lot better than entering stuff manually. Also this gives you a way of storing data on phone. Instead of ignoring the download page, you can past to there.

first let me say, I'm abscessed with this phone. I just love the idea of a private phone. as far as os's, i have tried ut, plasma, manjaro, arch, pm and mobian. All recently. The best by far is mobian. As this is supposed to be a phone, it would be nice to be able to use it as a phone. As in being able to make and receive calls. With mobian its about 95% there, the others, in my experience, calls are not there. Arch impressed me with how fast it was but no calls (yet). 
  Its been fun watching mobian improve. its stable and getting faster. It has been my daily driver since 2/2021. for me there are only three gripes. 1. received call have a lot of static 2. no netflix. 3. not able to sent attachments with texts.  
 I'm an average user so I'm not tech savvy enough to get a vpn or axolotl working so i guess I'll have to impatiently wait for an app. So thanks all you folks at mobian, nice job!

The GPS reception on my PinePhone has been poor (no satellites!), and I'd like to improve it with an external antenna.

Can anyone clarify which u.fl connector is the GNSS antenna (and whether it should be "active")? There seems to be at least three on the mainboard.

I am hoping the coax going to the USB-C board ANT104 could be it, but the schematics "helpfully" inticate only that it's an RF antenna, not which one. Wi-Fi? BT? LTE/CDMA? Or GNSS?

Much appreciated if someone can clarify.
