Updated the other day and haven't been able to use the modem. When trying to enable it the first time it says unable to detect modem. Further attempts appear to succeed but only show cellular. Trying an outbound call results in emergency calls only error.
Attempted to fix by
the Pinephone firmware packages but no change

I have a lot of music on an SD card but when I reboot the phone with it inserted the Pinephone attempts to boot from it instead of the internal storage. What formats am I able to use with Mobian for external storage? Other than that my experience has been great, everything I use a phone for is working.
I've answered my own question, if anyone else needs to know Mobian does exfat support of of the box.

I subscribe to a VPN service that supports openvpn. (pinephone64 CE Mobian & linux novice)
A search using "Software" 3.38.1 pointed me to GADMIN-OPENVPN-Client. I clicked "Install", and under the "software" app, it is marked as "installed." Its icon shows on my home screen. Clicking the icon goes to Terminal's request that to "execute /ser/sbin/gadmin-openvpn-client requies root privileges" (using -su). But upon entering root password, the phone returns to the home screen with no apparent action; pressing the icon returns to an open Terminal screen, asking again for the root password. Entry of the correct root password produces "su: Authentication failure" loop.
Suggestions?

https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/calls/-/m...quests/270
Checked out d0194fe53464f3bd97a14f8e32e3ab9a367a3985
Built as per README.md
Setup an account config as per merge request.
Incoming calls work.
Can dial from console (See https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/calls/-/m...ote_150323 for an example of dialing)
Can *Cannot*(edit) dial from UI or return calls from UI. However, this could be a VoIP provider issue as my VoIP provider does not use the standard ports (i.e. 5060).
EDIT (28 April 2021):
Made some changes to plugins/sip/calls-sip-origin.c to ensure that the sip: prefix, VoIP/SIP host and relevant port is included in any numbers submitted. Seems to be working well.
Also made some more changes regarding registration intervals given the requirements of my VoIP provider.
I will test for a good week before submitting the patch upstream.

RP64 Won't Boot After Power Down

Hi all,
I've been seeing this issue ever since I got my RP64, where the board sometimes just decides not to boot anymore after being powered down. I've always gotten it to recover eventually, but I really don't know how. The only consistent factors seem to be replugging the SD card and time. Maybe someone can help me out? I promise if I get this working, I'll post my project on here, with scripts and schematics
Symptoms:
- No red or white LED
- Green power LED is on, amber ethernet LED is blinking at a constant rate
- UART output only shows
Quote:DDR Version 1.19 20190305
In
- Root and boot partitions on the SD card are OK, I can still mount them on a PC
What I've tried:
- 3 different SD cards: sometimes one of them works, but none seems to be more more reliable than the others
- Boot from USB disk: USB boot hasn't worked yet from this state
- Reflash the SD card image: sometimes this works, usually it doesn't
- Reflash u-boot: the u-boot flashing image has the same boot problem as the OS image. if it does run, then the RP64 boots normally again.
- Jumper the boot pins: no effect
- Jumper pins 23 and 25: no effect
My setup:
- Ayufan's OpenMediaVault image, running from an SD card
- U-boot. Only for troubleshooting this issue; I wanted to try booting from USB
- Powered from an ITX PSU. After the RP64 is shut down, PSU power is also killed

PinePhone Beta Edition will not boot from MicroSD card

My beta edition PinePhone will not boot from the SD card. I was getting the red notification light, but it never got past that.
I tried two different Micro SD cards that work in a different beta edition PinePhone, but they would not boot.
Also, I tried putting a Micro SD card in without a OS to see if I could see that when booting from the emmc, but the phone would not boot then. I inserted the Micro SD card after the phone was on (don’t know if this was a bad idea or not) and then I was able to see it.
I am putting it in the correct slot though I wish that was the fix
Anyone have an idea on what could cause this?
Solution: This was caused by a issue with the card detection pin. Using the modified version of U-boot set to ignore the card detection pin is a workaround for if the card detection is broken. https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?...775&page=3

RockPro64 ethernet issues: DMA engine initialization failed

Hi friends,
I'm totally new to pine, and trying to bring up my RockPro64 for the first time.
I managed to concatenate and burn the Debian net install images and boot from MicroSD.
However, early in the install process, network configuration through DHCP fails.
I played around with manual settings with no progress.
Then I checked dmsg and found this fairly ominous DMA error:
eth0: PHY [stmmac-0:00] driver [RTL8211F Gigabit Ethernet] (irq=POLL)
Failed to reset the dma
eth0: stmmac_hw_setuo: DMA engine initialization failed
eth0: stmmac_open: Hw setup failed.
anyone have any ideas on how I might progress? I do have the wireless adaptor, so in theory I could also try that (or remove that?)

Display doesn't works

TL; DR: Display doesn't works, but backlight of display works.
Hi. I recieved pinephone yesterday. And sadly, it's display doesn't work. I thought it was because of corrupted disk image.
So i installed bunch of operating systems. None of this worked.
But i heared a sound effect when plugging and deplugging usb cable on mobian. Turned backlight on and off with power button.
So i tried telnet with jumpdrive, and it worked except for display.
I didn't test all functionality. But It seems like most of components works fine. I was even able to change brightness of backlight.
Replugging ribbon cable doesn't work. While replugging i lost some screws.
I can't get a reason why display doesn't work while backlight of display works.
This is dmesg from jupmdrive. Any ideas?
