  NAS, Plex Server
Posted by: Crispin - 01-30-2016, 07:22 PM - Forum: Linux on Pine A64(+) - Replies (2)

Hi all,

I've been imagining all the areas I might be able to put a PINE64 to good use around the home, and so far I'm predicting I'm going to need at least half a dozen of them! Sounds like a few fun weekends ahead...

Does anyone know if there is the ability/opportunity to use a PINE64 to run a small NAS operating system (and connect it up to a few USB hard drives)? Or is this not a good use-case, perhaps because a SATA connection is needed?

The other idea I had was to run Plex Server on a PINE64 as a back-end (and of course use another PINE64 for a front-end) - does anyone know if that would be possible? Or would it suffer from the same lack of SATA speed for media retrieval? I was hoping it might be fine for 1-2 simultaneous streams?

Cool

Hi all,

I am intrigued by the partnership with PicoCluster and what this might enable for end-users in our homes.

Does anyone have any ideas/plans on what clustering PINE64s might enable? Or does it simply make one's PINE64 unit more powerful/fast, as opposed to adding more features?

Cool

  Spurious interrups from KEYADC
Posted by: StefanB - 01-30-2016, 08:36 AM - Forum: POT modules - Replies (2)

During U-Boot startup I see the following message repeated

Code:
key pressed value=0x1

This is obviously caused by interrupts from the KEYADC. As far as I can see, this pin is left floating, but should likely be weakly (1..10 MOhm) pulled to GND.

I assume the purpose of this pin is to implement an R2R ladder input, like

Did anyone (who already got the pine64) try to use Miracast with any smart tv?

I would love to know the performance of Miracast and any other details.

Thanks.

Will the full schematic for the Pine 64 / 64+ be posted at some point on the wiki page?

  See Through Acrylic Cover
Posted by: Vachtra - 01-29-2016, 02:58 PM - Forum: Enclosures - Replies (5)

In update #24 it stated that we would not be getting the see through cover but an opaque model. I kinda like the see through version, maybe a little thicker, with with the pine logo.
Any chance for this option?

  Battery boost circuit

I assume there is a voltage boost circuit to power the board from the Lithium battery, and I would like to know what is the current limit for the boost circuit?
