  Pine64 malfunction
Posted by: ryfong704 - 09-01-2016, 02:11 PM - Forum: General Discussion on PINE A64(+) - Replies (4)

Hi, I got a pine64 for my birthday and it worked fine for about a month or so but just recently I've found that it keeps restarting four or five seconds into boot. I've tried using a different is but the same problem persists. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

LCD screen with android, runs fine, screen does not turn back on..?
Posted by: GhostlyAspens - 09-01-2016, 12:11 AM - Forum: Getting Started - Replies (2)

I was having problems getting the 7" touch screen to work and found out it was the image I was using. So I went and downloaded phoenix card and the image from pine 64 "lcd-version-20160419" and after the first few boots, it works great. Everything is running smooth even though strangely enough phoenix card failed to burn the image about 3 times and on the 4th time, it worked. Well now the problem is that if I let the screen turn off on its own or I hit the little power button I have on the board and leave it for a few seconds, I can't get the screen to turn back on unless I reset the whole unit with the reset button. They are both the buttons you can get from pine64 for like 50 cents each. I don't think it is a poor connection since the buttons work fine unless the screen is off and then it seems like the power button is completely unresponsive. Anyone else having this problem? I just got the playbox case and also have the (official pine64) battery installed.

Question Updating?

What's the preferred/best way to keep Debian on the Pine64 up-to-date? Interested in both apps as well as the system/OS itself.

  Enclosure issue
Posted by: gates_c - 08-31-2016, 02:12 PM - Forum: Enclosures - Replies (13)

So I received my enclosure over the weekend.  This was sure not worth the wait.  It is no better than the temp solution I had cobbled together.  Can anyone explain the large opening on the USB side of the enclosure?  Is there a reason this was left open?  Surely they should have included a panel to cover it?  Also, no access to the SD card once the enclosure is closed?  Seems like a poor design decision as well.

One other issue I am struggling with, the camera add-on.  Where exactly is this supposed to mount?  It appears that it should fit into the frame of the LCD, but doesn't fit, not to mention the problem with the length of the connecting cable.

A simple instruction sheet for all the various parts also doesn't seem like to much to ask.  Even a PDF posted for the various components.  I have tried to remain positive about this project, but I am now at the point of regretting backing this one.

Airmouse only works on AC power?
Posted by: Chisel_86 - 08-31-2016, 01:52 PM - Forum: Accessories - Replies (4)

My air mouse will not connect or function unless the board is plugged into ac power. I do have the battery installed, and it works fine when its charging with the power pack, but this way I can never be mobile and use the airmouse. Does anyone else have this issue?

  GPU Overclocking

Is it possible to overlock the GPU on Android? I need more power for ePSXe but not so much. Also, with Android Marshmallow there will be more graphics performances?

Pine 64 IR Receiver not working
Posted by: rajatgarg21 - 08-31-2016, 12:25 AM - Forum: Getting Started - Replies (1)

I received my Pine 64 a month back, I ordered a remote and IR receiver to go with it as well.
Unfortunately THE REMOTE DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE INPUTS i.e. the IR receiver does not work on my board. I have got no replies from support even on sending requests 5 times. Can someone help me out here?

Unable to activate wifi on Linux

Hello everyone
I installed Ubuntu distribution from Pine64 site.
Everything worked fine until I tried to get wifi running: I'm unable to activate it

  • ifconfig only displays eth0 and lo
  • lsmod shows that cfg80211 is there
In addition dmesg returns a strange message about power:

Code:

Any idea of what I could check (or where I went wrong)?
