IMHO sound is completely broken. Playing video or soundtrack with mpv gives no output on headphones and is badly distorted on loudspeakers.

Thanks @ a-wai Just finished downloading/installing fresh image: mobian-pinephone-20201104.img.gz to microsdcard (latest image). Runs great. Sound works great for me now (previously had an issue).
Not only does my sound and everything tested work so far, my bluetooth headphones have been playing a podcast on the first try for the first time ever on my Pinephone! Have been playing without any fail for over an hour straight now. Previously they had disconnected after a minute or so.
Thanks for the hard work. Much appreciated.

For sure mobian-pinephone-20201104.img.gz good enough to get me going again.
Default Videos application seems to hard hang and needs reboot. After installing mpv all is fine, both sound and video.
Suspect will not wake from Crust sleep, hung once with blue notification light flashing - can't test more at the moment as

Hello, newcomer here. Just flashed this image on my brand-new pinephone. So far it seems like the most stable of the images - well done, it's much appreciated.
What does the blue blinking light mean? I see it sometimes when waking from sleep.

It is a notification light. Will come on for incoming SMS or even Telegram messages as well as battery below 15% etc. On waking from sleep it takes some notification as well, and sometimes keeps going even after you have logged back in. Often times (but not always) clicking the top notification bar will give you the full details of the notification.

Blue light always flashes on all my phones, Brave Heart, PMOS, Manjaro phones, That are running Mobian, Arch, Manjaro OSes.
Even in deep sleep.
I thought it is just a power-on indicator ?
@ a-wai
Should we consider November 04 or 05 as a 'reference' release ?

Definitely not, things will probably take a few more days to stabilize, maybe even a whole week... Rest assured I'll let you all know when the next reference release is out

It is recommended that you don't update your system for a few days

An update running 20201104 nightly.
1) My earlier fear about not waking from CRUST was unfounded (the first time I had a problem, since then I have had no problems)
2) Not sure where scale-to-fit was on earlier nightlies - seems to be not enacted from 20201104
Code: gsettings set sm.puri.phoc scale-to-fit true
works fine though.
3) apt upgrade works OK, as you would expect apt dist-upgrade creates a mess that is beyond my skills to tidy!!
4) What is the package name of the Software application? I really want to remove it as I prefer controlling (or ruining!) my life with apt and find its efforts to sanitise things irksome.
5) Getting a lot of
Code: [34795.577181] anx7688 1-0028: soft = 0x01
[34795.580805] anx7688 1-0028: recv ocm message cmd=242 01 f2 0d

[34815.078707] anx7688 1-0028: recv ocm message cmd=242 01 f2 0d
in dmesg: seems to be related to my dumb wallwart charger, possibly after the battery is fully charged?
6) A feeling in my waters that I cannot measure: previously I had Mobian on eMMC, at the moment it is running from and SDcard (Evo+). My waters say phosh crashes more often when running from an SDcard, i.e. it has some kind of I/O timing problem?
Otherwise at least as good as before, and I do feel smug about having 5.9 even though I stumbled in early because of my dumbness!
