hey guys ,even that i registered before 1july i prefer to wait avoid first batches. Now , why would the pinebook come with 64gb and not give the option just to upgrade it from factory to 128gb? no point on having that 64 gb lying around and never use it :S

Even though it says 64GB, the first 2 batches are automatically getting 128GB instead

Sorry if this is already answered. I couldn't find it yet.
I'm not a long time forum member so I'm not able to get the current preorder and I don't need the 128G upgrade anyway.
What I want to know is when is the order process open for everyone else?

Because of what is picked and placed on the line. Its not a BTO laptop, that becomes more expensive. Its a simple swap and I am sure you can find a way to sell the eMMC someplace online for a few bucks.

i know that it may not be coming for a while, but I still wanted to voice my opinion. I will not be placing an order until the ANSI keyboard is available.

The pre-order post on July 25th only says codes will be released in a few weeks.

"The second batch is much larger -- 1000 units, all dedicated to preorders. These coupons will start being sent out in a couple weeks and stretch out to about 6-7 weeks from now. Units ship about 8-10 weeks from now."

I assume that means sometime soon and before Aug. 25 but maybe not. We'll see.

A 128GB model will not be directly available after these preorders, but you could still buy the 64GB version and install a 128GB module yourself (the eMMC is socketed).

When I first looked at the Pinebook Pro, that's how I read it. Comes with 64GB and upgradable to 128GB. And special deal for forum members that joined earlier.

It's strange that more than a few people have trouble reading it that way. To be fair, some use english as a 2nd, (or 3rd, ...), language, so it understandable for some people.

People, this device is not the final ARM64 laptop + configuration.
Who knows, perhaps the 256GB eMMC will drop in price 6 months from now.
Or my personal favorite, an 8GB memory option.

Unfortunately Flash price raise up sharply recently due to Japan-Korea trade embargo. Luckily we have lock in the 128GB price before price jump now, current price already 25% higher than our lock in price. On the third batch, PINE store needs to take a hit and absorb that Flash and LCD panel price hike :-(

No sure whether the 256GB eMMC will drop in 6 months time but for sure now is in sharply upward trend. Word of advise, if you needs SD card and still spot good price, buy now don't wait.

Please don't yell at me.  Due to me work, I cannot monitor this forum everyday.  I have never received an email from the Sale Team even though I preordered on the first day? 

Is this normal?

Is there a timeframe?  I just want to make sure I am not missing it!
