The effort put into making this work is much appreciated! I've got 5.1.1 working near perfectly using a wireless keyboard/trackpad combo (so the onscreen keyboard bug doesn't bother me). And running the 7.0 version seems to work well for the most part (seems a little bit slower currently on my Evo 32gb)
I'm wondering if anyone has managed to get an Android TV Netflix APK working without it throwing a device incompatibility error?
Glad to hear that.
Not sure about Netflix. Maybe others had similar problem?
Still, even if you run Netflix, it will still play materials in SD, because board support Widevine L3 only, that allows only SD decoding.
1. I am just using the Pine64 remote. No keyboard. There is no virtual keyboard to use for inputting items. Like in Youtube search or Google Play search. We have no microphone attached. Is it possible to get a virtual keyboard?
I used Android TV Remote, I also used Keyboard. It worked OK. There's no virtual keyboard, but I think that this is limitation of Android TV 5.1 in general that there's no on-screen keyboard.
2. When I run the Youtube APP that was on the image. I get the error "There was a problem signing in to your account". I am logged in with my account. No way inside of the Youtube APP to fix the log in. Anyone seeing this? Is there a fix?
I haven't seen that.

ayufan, youtube sign in error - eventually it works. Well at least did for me. Just went into the app enough times.

This is great! I have to travel for work. Today before leaving the house I burned this image to a microsd card and then tossed a pine64 into my bag. Now I'm sitting in my hotel room watching hulu. I haven't noticed any lag, except maybe from the slow hotel wifi.
Quick question, does this work with the LCD screen?
It does, but no support for touch.

Thanks ayufan for your great work.
I was wondering if it'd be possible to detect and present TV resolutions and refresh rates so they can be selected in the Android TV settings? I currently run your image on a pine64 2GB connected to a Samsung TV at 1080p 60hz. I'd like to get 24hz working so I can use this device as my dedicated media player.
Happy to help out if you can point me in the right direction on GitHub.
Cheers,
Steve.
EDID is read, but there's no support to notify HAL drivers to switch resolutions.
Why do you want to use 24hz?
