Might be a good idea to create a separate user for KDE.

Not so sure about the crashes, they could be caused by something different. But it definitely helped me with some other random weirdness like the wifi for example (it is reaaally misbehaving between KDE, Gnome and Wayfire when using single user on Manjaro).

The dotconfig files for KDE are separate from other desktop files. Just restarting the app fixes those crashes.

@ayufan , have you tried to compile qt5 with es2? It works well on Manjaro and KDE, would be interesting to see how it goes with the mali driver in Ubuntu.

Anyone got battery status to work as a panel plugin?
I tried with LXDE-panel with no success, fiddling with the fix from this thread: https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=7586 After that I tried to install xfce4-power-manager, xfce4-panel, and xfce4-goodies. Now I get correct status of when AC is connected or not but battery always show as low and I get alarms.

Well first of all thanks for the work in getting this working.
Second thing I cannot for the life of me get this image to boot of an sd card at all. UPDATE - MANAGED TO GET A LITTLE TIME OVER THE HOLIDAYS AND SORTED THIS BUT RATHER BRUTALY In short I downloaded a back up version of the default os and could boot that from an SD card so the SD card reader is fine. Then managed to boot the Manjaro KDE build which although very nice is not for me. Then wrote the EMMC with Mate directly and it worked! = would not boo off an sd card mind you but did boot to the EMMC and so I now have Ubuntu Mate on my Pinebook Pro! I played around a little and even tried to then install the Ubuntu desktop (oh dear what a mess that made) before getting that removed and sticking with Ubuntu Mate now rocking Munity theme too so just like my old Ubuntu desktop! Been using Linux/Ubuntu for some 10 years now (and run many many versions of Linux on mnay devices) and this is completely foxed me. I have followed the instructions on the first page Downloaded the image I wanted for the pinebook pro Extracted it Installed it onto the SD card using DD and Etcher and the disk app in Ubuntu and it just does not boot from the SD card at all - ever not once after maybe 10 attempts to reflash Am I missing something? I have tried this using the Manjaro install process and it booted from the sd card first time and used 3 different sd cards of different sizes Any clues as I am pulling my hair out for what should be very very easy to do |
