Trying to understand power part of circuit....
Posted by: winneymj - 05-05-2020, 04:03 PM - Forum: PineTime Hardware and Accessories - Replies (4)

Hi,
Just to let you know I am not an electrical engineer but do dabble in electronics and there is no better place to learn circuits and how they work than to look at other people designs.
With that in mind I am trying to understand why the Pinetime watch has 2 voltage regulators...the ME6206 which takes battery voltage and regulates to 3.3V and the SGM2036-3.3 which also does the same?  The output for each is Vcc and Vdd and some components take Vcc and others Vdd.
I think it might have something to do with with the P24 power control and saving power and disabling some components when not in use, but that part of circuit eludes me also.

  Audio 3.5mm Jack not working
Posted by: clement - 05-05-2020, 03:09 PM - Forum: General Discussion on ROCKPRO64 - Replies (9)

Hello,

I installed LibreElec on my new ROCKPRO64. I have a hi-fi stereo which I want to plug on the audio jack 3.5mm. It doesn't work, meaning I don't have any sound. I don't know from were the problem comes from and I don't know how to investigate.

I post in general forum because I don't know if it's an hardware or Linux issue.

Thanks in advance for your help Smile

Functional, with the original OS, except for Firefox, Chromium. Sad
There are small cracks at the USBs, and the hinge is getting pretty tight, so i don't know how many cycles it has left.
Best offer, i guess. DM me .

  Docker on prebuilt image
Posted by: bratoff - 05-05-2020, 01:14 PM - Forum: Armbian - No Replies

I noticed that Docker is pre-installed in the current pre-built Armbian image for the A64.  Is this just a nice-to-have or is it necessary for some part of the release to function properly?

I ask this question because the desktop is a bit sluggish and I'm looking for daemons that might not actually be necessary in my use case to try and get back a bit more performance.

  Audio is not working

I tried to turn the volume up and down of my speakers and there is no sound coming from there. I also have no sound coming to the headphones as well.

  Packages available for arm
Posted by: ibi - 05-05-2020, 01:40 AM - Forum: Linux on Pinebook Pro - Replies (5)

I'd like to get a Pine64 Pro laptop to tinker with. I was happy to see it now ships with Manjaro.

I've done some googling to find out what packages I might be able to install on it. I found a little info, but some of it was contradictory.

Could anyone please just confirm which of the following packages I could install on the Pine64 Pro Manjaro?

SQLite3
VIM
Visual Studio Code
Sublime Text
Python3
PyQt5
PostgreSQL

As you can see, I'm not going to push the device too hard; but unless I can get some of these programs installed, I won't have much to tinker with.

Thanks for the help, and many thanks to everyone who has been involved in this project!

  Pine64 Suddenly Turnoff with Lcd
Posted by: mix359 - 05-04-2020, 04:24 PM - Forum: Pine A64 Hardware, Accessories and POT - Replies (4)

Hi to all,
I've bought an official 7'' LCD with the case to use with one of my Pine64 (the first series, from the kickstarter campaign).

In my first test it worked without problems... But after a reboot it stopped working and now is impossible to boot with the Lcd attached:
Just after I plug in the power, it try to start booting, turn on the lcd all white and immediately the power led blink and it reboot itself, like if it have an error or it haven't enough power.

I've searched here on the forum and I've found many thread talking about power issue, but I'm currently doing many test and I'm not sure that's my case:
I'm using a 2.1A iPad Usb power charger and I've tried many different usb cables (even some with a big section), and even tried using a PC PSU directly on the pins 2+9 and 4+6, but it suddenly turn off almost all the time (It had worked another time randomly).
I've also measured the requested current, and it doesn't pass the 0.7/0.8A.
If I detach the DSI cable, all back to work normally.

Anyone can help me investigate this problem? Any advice?
How many possibilities there are that is a software problem?
In those case, there isn't any log about the boot phase? Any way I can understand if the kernel is not even loaded?
Any other test I can do to understand if it's a power related problem?

Just to give some other information: I'm using the Xenial minimal image by ayufan with the last uBoot/kernel/package etc
Also, I have 3 of this Pine64 and I've tried with all off them (with or without the wifi module)

Thanks to all for the help
Cheers
Mix

Bug No Images work except one.

For some reason I cannot get any images to boot from the microSD. I have tried different brand microSDs and different images. None work. With the exception of DietPi. This image is the only image that seems to boot??

Using the Official Pine64 Installer Software on OSX.

Ideas?

  Sound profiles on UBPorts
Posted by: afigegoznaet - 05-04-2020, 03:02 AM - Forum: UBPorts on PinePhone - Replies (2)

Hi.

I noticed during phone calls, the speaker and mic level are a bit lower than what I am used to.
I could raise the volume in aslamixer, but the settings are reset when a new call is innitiated.
Any ideas where these sound profiles are saved/how to edit them?
