  UK source of PinePhone batterys?
Posted by: --- - 05-18-2020, 12:03 PM - Forum: PinePhone Accessories - Replies (2)

Looking around there seems to be a lot of uncertainty (and of course Pine64 can't ship outside US). If anyone has found a trustworthy source (capacity/volume/dimensions/chip(etc)) please share. Thanks...

  Pixel Headphones (USB-C)

Not sure if this is posted elsewhere as a quick search didn't show it.

Happened upon my Pixel Headphones and plugged them into my PBP Running Manjaro, after setting them to default in the gui mixer they work just fine even show in the Mixer as "Pixel USB-C earbuds Analog Stereo"

  Europe/EU import duties/taxes ?
Posted by: 46enip - 05-18-2020, 08:36 AM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (3)

Hello current and future European PinebookPro owners, I would appreciate if you share
how much were the import  duties/taxes for you. And how it is calculated:
Is it fixed amount or percentage based or combination of both ?
Optionally it would be nice to tell your country too. But totally understandable if you don't want to.

Thank you!

  Symbol meaning in the schematic
Posted by: dedoz - 05-18-2020, 07:40 AM - Forum: RockPro64 Hardware and Accessories - Replies (3)

Hi,

Iam having a hard time understand the "<<" and ">>" symbols in the Pine64 RockPro64 schematic: http://files.pine64.org/doc/rockpro64/ro...21-SCH.pdf

Here is a simple example for 2 pins:

PCIE_PWR: is marked with >> from the SoC, then with >> again on the EN pin of the the switch (or whatever). This clear that this pin in output (from the SoC side)

DVP_PWR: is marked with << from the SoC, then with >> on the EN pin of the the switch. This is confusing, Since it is connected to the EN pin of the switch, then it should be output, but why it is marked with << from from the SoC?

Can anyone please explain what these symbols supposed to mean?

TIA

  Mobile network settings
Posted by: afigegoznaet - 05-17-2020, 09:52 AM - Forum: UBPorts on PinePhone - Replies (2)

Hi.

I noticed, that both voicecalls and mobile internet are only working if the default settings (use 2G only) remain untouched.
As soon as I switch to anything else, i can only have mobile internet (2G/3G/4G case), or only voicecalls (the other 2 options).
Switching back to "2G only" doesn't help.
Anyone else experienced this issue / knows what's happening / how to fix it?

What OS is the pinephone community edition os based on?
Posted by: ljones - 05-16-2020, 06:05 PM - Forum: General Discussion on PinePhone - Replies (2)

Hello all!

Just really wanted to ask a quick and simple question really. Does anyone know what os the pinephone/community edition os will be based on? I only ask as I was looking at a video on youtube ;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MXOgb-U2jI

but as I watched something didn't quite seem right. Sure the phone is running ubuntu touch but something just well - it looked just a little bit "android-ish" if you can see what I mean. And lo and behold about 4 mins into the video I see in the file manager a directory called "Android". So .... is the pinephone similar to the Aquaris E5? That old phone ran ubuntu touch but you couldn't use it in the same way as "normal" ubuntu (you couldn't even run apt-get update was one of the comments I heard back at that time - !). And in the end it was revealed that "ubuntu" was just a re-jigged "ubuntu" running in an android chroot. It was pretty ..... terrible. :-( and you're still tied in to google spying and survellience.

https://ubuntu.com/blog/bq-launches-the-...tu-edition

So is the pinephone just running "ubuntu" in a chroot but quitely running android below that? Only reason I ask is I don't want yet-another android spy device and really don't want to get stung a second time (I did buy the E5 back in the day x.x ).
