  Mouse pointer sensitivity
Posted by: rfm83 - 07-22-2020, 10:51 AM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (6)

Has anybody found the perfect setting for the mouse pointer using the touchpad? It's very sensitive and hard to use.

Let me just add that what I'm looking for is to change the sensitivity when the pointer is on any icon or button. It seems to move quickly and it's hard to click.

2.4 GHz WiFi bandwidth reduced 50% when Bluetooth enabled
Posted by: jrobin28260 - 07-22-2020, 10:05 AM - Forum: PinePhone Hardware - No Replies

Hi all,

This is not a really serious issue, not sure if something can be done in future revisions or not, so this is just in case.

When doing some tests with the maximal WiFi bandwidth (iperf, wget, aria2c etc), on a 40 MHz access point, it's about 100 Mbps if bluetooth firmware is not noaded (to find a way to disable bluetooth chip while keeping WiFi enabled, I removed the rtl8723cs_xx*.bin from initrd.img)

However, if the bluetooth chip is working (firmware loaded), even if set to "disabled", the Wifi bandwidth is capped to 50 Mbps (even when changing WiFi access point frequency from 1 to 13)

As bluetooth and WiFi are both operating at the same frequency range, this is not completely surprising, however I already used devices on which the difference isn't as much.

And... I guess that's all I have to tell about this Tongue didn't played a lot with the 4G modem, I have a spot in the forests where 1 out of 3 panels of the operator's antenna is directed to nowhere in the forest : this is the best 4G bandwidth testing point ever. I'll probably check it out soon with the pinephone

Keep up the great work!

PS : Using "UBports Community Edition" model, which is supposed to be 1.2

  Mobian Mobile Data Doesn't Work
Posted by: pablo180 - 07-22-2020, 09:22 AM - Forum: Mobian on PinePhone - Replies (5)

Been using Mobian for a few days on a couple of different phones and with different SIM cards. Yet I have been completely unable to get mobile data to work at all. I have the icons 2G, 3G, 4G etc but there is never an actual data connection, yet from what I have read it should be working?

I am not sure if it is because the SIM cards that I am using are from piggy back networks - GiffGaff and Virgin Mobile in the UK - or whether there is some setting or set up that I am missing. Both SIM cards work in both phones and have data connections using UBPorts, this problem only occurs in Mobian.

I have tried setting up the APNs using the correct settings multiple times, with no luck whatsoever. Is there another step that I am missing?

Pinephone not booting various OSes (eMMC and SD card)
Posted by: lapinus - 07-22-2020, 07:18 AM - Forum: General Discussion on PinePhone - Replies (3)

Hi all!
I have a Pinephone Braveheart, one of the first to ship (shipped around 9th March) and I used it on and off between school and other things. I left it lying around for a while and recently started playing with it again. It worked fine.

2 days ago I was on PostmarketOS with plasma. After a forced shutdown since it froze, it wasn't booting anymore. I tried PmOS with Phosh from the SD and the eMMC and it vibrated with a white and then green LED and shut off 1 second after that, and kept doing that. Then I tried Ubuntu from the SD and eMMC. I had a slow blinking red light.

I honestly don't know what the fuck to do anymore, any help would be GREATLY appreciated... thank you guys!

Posted by: jvlist - 07-22-2020, 04:13 AM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (18)

Ok so ik tried to flash an os to the pinephone with my pinebook pro. i think i gave the wrong command and the installation went to the pinebook emmc and not the phone. The pinebook had to be restarted and does not boot anymore. Ive looked for ways to reflash manjaro to the emmc but cant get it to boot. Right now i have manjaro emmc edition on a sd card but im not sure how to proceed. Any suggestions?

tnx in advance

Question How to make a web app for a custom webpage
Posted by: RandomN00B - 07-21-2020, 11:17 PM - Forum: UBPorts on PinePhone - Replies (6)

I'm trying to find out how to make a random website into a web app, but most guides require me to get the Ubuntu Touch SDK on my computer. Trying to do this, I get the error `Cannot add PPA: ''This PPA does not support focal''.

From my research, this seems to mean that the package is outdated and isn't supported anymore.

How can I make a custom Web App on my phone?

Hi,

I just received my Rock64! Smile However, before doing something wrong, I need to understand. I read the Noob page but I'm still not sure. In fact, I'm quite lost, I don't know which section I should follow. And what material I need.

Do I need a SD card or not if I want to use eMMC?

I seems to understand I need a USB-USB cable?

Do I can follow Flashing to eMMC using Rockchip Tools (Rock64 Only) if I don't want an Android image?

In fact, I want to install NextCloudPi. In those instructions, it's still question of a microSD card but not eMMC.

Thanks a lot to help a motivated, but lost, beginner!
