  Endeavor OS
Posted by: bastafari - 09-20-2020, 05:22 PM - Forum: Linux on Pinebook Pro - Replies (6)

Looks like there's an arm branch of endeavor now. Pinebook isn't an official device but they list it as a possible device to use it on. They offer a couple of DE's except for Deepin. I might give it a shot. Here's the link: ://endeavouros.com/news/the-september-release-and-endeavouros-arm-arrived/

  Kings Cross disappeared
Posted by: bobblestiltskin - 09-20-2020, 04:45 PM - Forum: Mobian on PinePhone - Replies (8)

I used 'Kings Cross' as my terminal under mobian.

Last week sometime it disappeared from my phone.

How do I re-install it? I can not see it under Utils in Software, nor does 'apt search cross' yield anything that looks suitable.

I did manage to install 'Terminator' but prefer 'Kings Cross' because I can access <ESC> and <CTRL> from the keyboard in 'Kings Cross'.

Remote PineTime for flashing and testing firmware remotely
Posted by: lupyuen - 09-20-2020, 04:41 PM - Forum: Development Discussion on PineTime - Replies (5)

I have set up a PineTime for flashing firmware and testing remotely...

1. You can send flash commands to the Telegram Bot...

    /flash 0x0 https://.../firmware.bin

2. Then view the live video stream of PineTime on YouTube

Hope this will encourage more people to try PineTime programming. More details here...

  RockPro64 & Rock64 operating temperature range
Posted by: skiba88 - 09-20-2020, 02:44 PM - Forum: General Discussion on ROCKPRO64 - No Replies

Hi,
It cannot be found in any documentation.
What is the operating temperature range for these SBC's?
The only information I found is -20 + 70 degrees (Celsius). Is it true?

  Android on Rock64 SD Problem
Posted by: ElBoluTony - 09-20-2020, 02:42 PM - Forum: Android on Rock64 - Replies (3)

Hi, first of all, i wanna say that i'm quite happy with the Rock64, i've a 4GB, Rev 2 version, that is working like a LibreELEC Media Center 24/7, PulseAudio Server without (almost) a glitch.
I'm trying to install Android on a SD Card, so far i've tried on a number of Cards without success;

8GB Kingston Class 10
16GB Sandisk Ultra
32GB Sandisk Extreme (i own a Couple)

The images were the following;

android-7.1-rock-64-rock64_atv-v0.3.13-r115-raw.img
rock64_20171204_stock_android_7.1.2_rooted_sdboot.img
rock64_20180623_stock_android_8.1_sdboot.img
ROCK64_20190621_stock_rooted_android_9.0_sdboot.img
ROCK64_dd_20190621_stock_rooted_android_9.0_sdboot-16GB.img

ROCK64_dd_20190621_stock_rooted_android_9.0_sdboot-32GB.img

Flashed in a number of ways, first the Pine64 Installer, then Etcher, the Rockchip SDTool, Win32DiskImager, DD on Linux.
None of the combinations booted into Android.

I know that this is a developer SBC, i also tried Armbian and Manjaro ARM flawlessly, so i find quite strange this behaviour.

The PSU is a 3A 5v, i can acccept that maybe this unit will never boot into Android, but if there is a tip, i'll take it.
i don't own a eMMC memory, i'm from Argentina and they are quite difficult to get here.

Thanks!

  Manjaro.....
Posted by: brettmarkman - 09-20-2020, 12:44 PM - Forum: General Discussion on PinePhone - Replies (13)

Would this covergence edition of Manjaro (3GB+) be considered an alpha edition? Can I expect most apps/functions to work properly/timely or should I simply purchase the phone and wait for an upgraded version of the OS? Thanks....

  accelerometer / gyro programming
Posted by: jgullickson - 09-20-2020, 10:40 AM - Forum: PinePhone Hardware - Replies (1)

I'm experimenting with writing some programs that use the accelerometer & gyro and I'm wondering if anyone here knows if there are "Unix-y" interfaces for these devices (/dev/something) or if they need to be accessed via some other mechanism like the SPI bus, etc.?

The programs I'm writing are in C but if you have an example in another language I might be able to translate.

Thank-you!

Jason

  ChromeOS on Pinetab?
Posted by: brentashley - 09-20-2020, 08:31 AM - Forum: PineTab Software - Replies (1)

Would be great to try ChromeOS on the Pinetab.  It has always been great on my Asus Chromebook Flip so I know it does touch well. Any plans?
