Long story short:
Ordered and received a PBP, machine would sporadically boot. Support told me to ship it to an address in CA. I removed the battery and shipped (to lower cost). Received a new PBP with a bad screen. Support sent me a new screen which I replaced. Everything works great now.
Now I get to use it only to find out I cant run some applications. (ARM is incompatible)
What I have a perfectly functioning PBP with a spare battery.
Selling for $160. shipping will be in a 15 x 12 x 3 box 3lb from 55355. I'm open to offers as well.

Affordable Linux smartwatch from Pine64?

knapsack.news called the year 2020, the year of Linux on the smartwatch. Shown is a picture of the PineTime:
https://knapsack.news/2019/09/18/2020-th...martwatch/
PineTime is not a Linux smartwatch. Pine64 has nothing to offer to people who are searching for a Linux smartwatch. The year 2020 could be the year of the Linux smartwatches, but It is not. There are smartwatches available which are affordable and can run Linux AsteroidOS. But there is no solution available from Pine64.
After a long search for a Linux smartwatch, I found the Kingwear KW88 Pro. Here is a manual how to install AsteroidOS on the Kingwear KW88 Pro:
https://chandlerswift.com/2020/07/12/ast...8-pro.html
I gathered all the information together which I could find for the Kingwear KW88 Pro Linux smartwatch here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwa...st83624245
Unfortunately, there is no real community to use the Kingwear KW88 Pro as a Linux smartwatch running AsteroidOS either.
I miss an affordable Linux smartwatch from Pine64, and I miss a community of Linux smartwatch users in the Pine64 forum using a Pine64 Linux smartwatch.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem?
I'd like to order a Pinephone. Unfortunately, when entering the address and placing the order, I get the message: "Sorry, we cannot ship to PO boxes or Military/Diplomatic addresses.". I've already ordered various items from the Pine64 store, always to the same address and never had a problem. Location: Poland.
I wrote to the sales department and I am waiting for a reply, but I am afraid that I will be late with the purchase.

This is probably my most frustrating experience yet!
For some reason after an update my phone ended up on the stable channel. It can no longer revert and will not allow me to update to further dev builds
It says build 8 but i know there's at least a 229 dev

BraveHeart UbPorts Battery drain/Solder update

I recall a news post informing us that the BraveHeart UbPorts Pinephone had an issue that required a solder fix so the battery could hold a normal charge. I keep checking the news updates and I haven't seen anything more about where I can get my phone fixed. I've asked on Telegram too.
Anyone know if a list is still being worked on as to where I can get this fixed?
I've watched the how to video but my experience with soldering is limited and I've never messed with small circuit boards. I don't feel comfortable doing this myself.
I know this edition was for testing but it was suppose to function properly on the hardware end. I thought about buying the latest edition. Although, I fear it will have some hardware issue too and I can't get it fixed either.

RockPro64 has bad Memory (Software sogfaults and kernel panics)

Hello,
I just purchased a rockpro64, and I am having some very odd issues with it:
- I attempted to install the Debian official image twice, and I caused it to kernel panic with the official image.
- I also attempted to use Armbian, and when I tried to update it, I got a segmentation fault on dpkg.
I have looked around and I have not seen anyone complain about these issues.
EDIT:
This is caused bybad memory. I ran as root on Armbian minimal install:
It is on Rockpro64 V2.1 2018-07-02, 4GB variant, date code 4719
Pine64 has get to RMA my device despite me using support and contacting sales over a week ago.
UPDATE 16 Oct:
I hate to say, I have not heard anything useful since I opened up this issue on 4 Oct. I filed a Paypal dispute in the hopes that will get them to respond. This is frankly beyond disappointing. I have been very happy with the Pinephone, and that was the reason I have the RockPro a chance over the RaspPi. This whole ordeal sours my interest in buying anything from Pine again.

Google Meet on the Pinebook Pro

So my work laptop ran out of battery today, so I had to pull out the Pinebook Pro to go to an hour long work meeting. I was a bit worried, but running in Chromium, it had absolutely no trouble showing a full group of people and a screenshare. I expected slowness or it to get hot (my old Macbook pro that I have for work does), but no problems whatsoever. A really pleasant surprise
