Display dimming unless plugged in |

Hi everybody
I just received my pinephone beta with convergence pack which is the latest they offer with Manjaro and Plasma Mobile.
Things have gone perfectly with it. I have updated and upgraded everything perfectly but for some reason at the end of the day yesterday the display goes to black unless I hold my finger on the display. Initially I thought that it may have been related to low battery which was at 15% so plugging it in fixed it. But today with full charge the display shows itself only momentarily and then dims. If plugged in its fine.
The "display brightness" slider that I access by dragging the screen down will slide itself to left and dim the display. If I drag it to the right to full brightness it stays there while my finger is on it, if I remove it the slider slides back to left and gives a black screen.
I don't that this is related to an update as the phone was fine for a while after I updated and upgraded. Its just went like this for seemingly no reason.
Can anybody possibly suggest a way forward here?
Thanks for amy help.

Bluetooth keyboard with trackpad |

Can anyone here recommend a bluetooth keyboard with built-in touchpad that will work with the Pinephone's internal bluetooth (that is, without requiring its own dedicated USB receiver)? Hooking up a mouse and keyboard via the dock works but it's pretty awkward to work with the phone that way.

Hello All,
I just got the new Pinebook Pro and probably somehow screwed the dependencies on first software install attempt (vi, mutt, xterm and a couple of apps from the Recommendation section) It failed and any subsequent attempt to install basically anything reports an error Conflicting dependencies: opensmtpd and msmtp-mta are conflicting (translation from my native language mine). Installation by pacman seems to work (tested on only few packages though). Is there any way to fix it? I have no prior Manjaro experience and for some time the ability to use high-level package manager would be... well, handy.
Many Thanks,
cerno

Well, despite the warnings I did it, set in play Pines biggest challenge
Its Mothers day soon and my wife is excited I'm getting a Pine phone, (from a flipphone) somehow her tablet now needs to be replaced,
as the tablets are sold out here she requested the pinebook and I obliged and placed an order
I know Linux is not an easy adjustment for those coming from other OS but all she does it watch crafting videos on YT, visit pintrest, check email and a bit of google chat/facetime
Based on that can anyone offer advice for me to set this up and make it something she can both get along with and learn to enjoy?
If she don't I'll end up having to buy her a new android tablet and I'd prefer to not have to do that
TY!

Is there a way to do gnome-authenticator via the command line? |

I am moving my 2FA stuff from my moto-g phone to my pinephone. I am using the flatpak version of gnome-authenticator.
Is there a way to setup credentials using the command line rather than the UI?
I would rather not type in the long tokens for 40 keys.
I might give a remote desktop a try.

pinebook pro trackpad randomly stops working |

Running Manjaro ARM i3-edition on my PineBook Pro. Just received the device a few days ago.
At first I noticed that the trackpad's palm rejection wasn't quite there, but then I noticed that it was suddenly great -- not just palm rejection, but finger rejection, button press rejection -- it stopped working altogether!
Well, I run i3wm, so I don't use the mouse all that much. I just kept trucking on the terminal, and then the cursor started randomly moving around again according to the movement of my palms as I typed.
So, the trackpad seems to randomly cut in and out every few seconds -- BUT! I can keep the touchpad "alive" if I constantly mouse around in little circles. But sometimes I have to wait for a while for it to come back once it goes to "sleep."
Any ideas?? I saw a post about touchpad drivers, but the 2021 units are supposed to be pre-updated.
Just to re-iterate, the trackpad is completely dead every few seconds. Not only non-responsive to touch, but also to physical clicks with the trackpad buttons.

how to dismiss notifications |

Just received my PineTime yesterday and am having lots of fun showing the people who work for me, my $25 dollar watch compared to their $700 apple watch. Their expressions are priceless.
One thing I have not figured out is how do dismiss/delete notifications. I thought I saw a post yesterday about it, but could not re-locate it.
All help is appreciated.
Phil
PS Has anybody "tied" their PineTime to PinePhone running Mobian? I currently am attached to my android phone, but would love to get it going on my PinePhone. I have not had a lot of time to play with that yet.
