Hi. I have a new problem with my Pinephone, which is running the latest stable Majaro ARM w/ Phosh.

When I make a call, I cannot hear the phone ring, and when the receiver answers, I can't hear them and they can't hear me.

If I press the "speaker" button and switch to speakerphone, I can hear and be heard, but with a nasty echo audible on the receiver's end.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? What do you think might be the cause?

I had another problem with telephony earlier this month that was resolved, but now this new problem has emerged. The former problem was discussed here: https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=14857

The only thing I've done with my phone recently that may have caused a problem was a failed attempt to install Signal protocols, Could that have possibly interfered with these functions?

More importantly, as I use Pinephone as my "daily driver"... how might I fix this problem? TIA. 

I have a PureTalk sim in the phone. It gets calls and texts, but data doesn't work. I keep getting texts warning me that the 3G is going away; I suspect that is connected to no data.

Settings shows, under Modem Details: 
Carrier PureTalk
Network type LTE
Signal strength 44%
Network Status Registered

Under access points:
Access point name att.mvno

Running Mobian Bookworm on the eMMC.

Any ideas on how to get data working?

i'm new on Pinephone. Just received a new device with KDE Plasma. after boot, the "Welcome Screen" popup in Landscape. Most fields are inaccessible, so i'm unable to do the setup. Only hard shutdown is possible.

Any ideas or experience with this situation?

Hey guys and gals, this is my first post on the forums. I decided to ask around about a small issue I've got to save some time. Hope somebody knows the right answer. 

So, I've finally figured out how to get Gentoo Linux running on my pinephone. Everything works nicely, but I was wondering how to make the system have all the settings save after reboot. For instance, some stuff like the WiFi network last used gets saved, but other things like display scaling or starting up as Docked (as if HDMI is used) do not, and just most other things changed in the Settings configuration tool do not stay the same after I reboot.

I assume this has something to do with Phosh or perhaps file access, but I'm not sure what is the problem. While not a big deal really, I'd still like to know how have these things work as intended. Thank you.

Hello. I've got my Quartz64 A 8GB today and tried to boot with several Linux-based and Android images. I've tried both mmc and emmc boot with the same result:

Any suggestions what this failure is meaning?

Does it expected at the moment for this board version?

Is there any work being done to make the PineTab early adopter edition usable? I haven't seen an OS update to be installed since I took delivery of the device.
The current state of the machine doesn't allow me to use it as an every day machine to do any work.

Hello, anyone knows how to get the wlan working?

Mobian pinephone -- "Stalled" (best way to describe it)


It is a new Mobian model pinephone.

I was able to complete the Mobian install.
Apt-get added some apps.
LOVED the phone.


I let it go for a week and charged it via an intel nuc (and other ways, see below).


This is as far as I get.


The green light goes on when charging for 4-5 seconds.
Then it (boots?) falls through to this screen.
The green light goes off.
I never see a red light.


I tried my pin and varies passwords at this screen and press "OK".
It accepts the OK and loops back to this screen.


I have:
* fully powered it off/on.
* removed tape from battery.
* charged it for 3 days, while off, on the NUC.
* charged it for 3 days, while off, on a surge-protector USB port.
* used the provided orange cable.
* removed the battery and tried it while connected via USB (it does the same thing).


* (it did the first time) but does not now show ANYTHING on the desktop

when connected to the desktop. Does not even show that it is connected

now (it did the first time).




What else can I try?


Has anyone else experienced this same scenario?


Should I repeat this post under hardware?

Does ayufan have newer versions of u-boot than the 2017.9 versions listed here? When trying their latest releases, the compatibility list lists newer versions but I cannot find anything newer than 2017.9. Am I missing something? I've gone down some U-Boot rabbit holes and scoured the internet but am at a loss.

When using any of their newer images my system consistently hangs at this line:
