Any word on where this is at currently? Quick searching showed there were many small scripted efforts that somewhat worked. Anyone have insight on which is currently the best method to use right now for sending and receiving? Would love to see links to a guide if there is one.

i have weird dilemma now. i bought new pinephone 3gb/32gb variant, because previous one showed serious damage to the screen and touchscreen. touchscreen is broken and detaches from screen. roughly speaking half of the touchscreen works. i almost bricked the modem chip, but i got it back though. so what to do half-broken pinephone.
option 1: use it spare parts
option 2: buy new screen, which is still cheap enough. https://pine64.com/product/pinephone-5-9...ch-screen/
option 3: sell it
good:
asking price 0€ (shipping not included and preferebly eu only)
bad:
serious damage and usage
shipping is not free
hardware version 1.2a
usb hub adds extra
edit:
mainboard is modified from 1.2a to 1.2b. seems to work but no guarantees.

How to use microSD card to extend storage on arch linux Phosh

Recently installed arch linux phosh on my pinephone, but the storage apparently ran out before I could even download anything to the phone, or do any other storage-related tasks.
What I'm trying to do is use my 128GB microSD card that I have just dd'd with /dev/zero as a method to extend the storage of my pinephone, thus letting me use it regularly. How can I accomplish this?

Ubuntu Touch vs. Manjaro on Braveheart [Accessibility]

I bought a Braveheart phone over a year ago. I am equally motivated by the desire for a libre phone as well as to support such projects in general. I knew full well it was going to be a "beta" experience, so I was not going to make the lack of functionality or applications as a reason to not use the platform as a daily driver.
However, the one issue that i couldn't get past was the lack of "responsiveness" on the touch screen. Without question this can be partially chalked up to my fine motor skills. At any rate, I had trouble clicking buttons, and pulling menus, and activating widgets in general, especially near the corners and edges of the screen.
So I set the phone aside. I figured I would wait some time for software updates to see if the responsiveness got any better.
Yesterday, I booted the Pinephone and installed the available software updates. While I still had some issues, the experience was drastically better from the last time I logged on about 6 months previously. That implies to me that it was not the hardware per se that was a problem.
So here is my question. I noticed that the pinephones are now being sold with Manjaro installed instead of Ubuntu. As far as accessibility, is it any better than Ubuntu currently?
Probably the most important use of the phone would be email. I haven't yet figured out how to use Libertine/install apps from the command line, but that said, I like using text-based mail clients like Alpine, which uses a lot of keyboard sequences with the Ctrl button. So the quality of the virtual keyboard would play a big role for me.
Opinions?

Pinebook Pro Manjaro Plasma 5.22.5 Kernel 5.14.2-1
Has anyone been able to Share their PBP screen onto their TV ?
If you have any ideas on how to implement this it would be helpful. I found the PBP to be a very handy laptop for many personal uses cases.
Manjaro have done an excellent job at maximising our use of this hardware. Most features are working and the system is very stable. Personally I would love a bit more speed, but it works well as is.
When I googled this subject I found a mixed bag of ideas. Gnome desktop seems to have this feature, while Plasma does not. Alternatively would something like a Google Chromecast work? Any ideas ?

Pinebook got wet

Hi,
I could use some advice. I placed my Pinebook Pro near an open window and it rained on it a bit.
The lid was closed . Not soaked but there was some water on the inside, on the screen and keyboard. It does not boot anymore.
I opened it up. There was a little bit of water on the battery. Not a lot. Did not see any other wet spots. The charging light goes off after a couple of minutes when I connected the barrel plug.
I disconnected the battery and connected the bypass connector to power it without the battery. When I insert the barrel plug the green light goes on for a moment. The power button gives no effect.
I have the device now standing folded open with the battery disconnected and the back plate removed. To air it.
Anything I can do besides of waiting and hoping?
Thanks,
Walter

I've been excited about Debian 11 (Bullseye) on the RockPro64 since hearing they've included official support for the board into the Debian installer. So I downloaded the image from https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/11....-DVD-1.iso, dumped it to a USB 3.0 stick (in the blue USB 3.0 port) and booted from the medium with a blank microSD card in the slot. That familiar installer menu comes up and boots the default selection, and then I get dropped to a GRUB command prompt every time. I do not have an eMMC drive installed in the machine. I do have Sigmaris U-Boot installed to the SPI. Any ideas what's causing Debian installer to abort like this?

Hi community members,
I freshly installed my pinephone with postmarketOS ("pmos" for short) and where able to let pmos to display traditional Chinese characters (by placing fonts inside /usr/share/fonts, through SD Card jump drive method ) in my contact list (through a vcf file from my samsung phone) and in firefox visiting some Chinese website. However, I just could not found a way to input any Chinese characters in pmos.
Back on my desktop with Linux installed, I have ibus-cangjie installed and have been using it for a very long time. As I see "Ibus" is a part of the package available in the apk application list, so I thought ibus-cangjie could be installable (or probably I could use it to input Chinese? I understand there is no Chinese virtual keyboard available either). I went through installing "git", "gcc", "m4", "automake", "gettext", and spending countless hours try to install cangjie and yet still unable to establish anything with inputing Chinese.
Is there a simple solution for inputing Chinese characters? Or am I just over doing it? Or I did not dig deep enough? Any input are all welcome.

I've noticed that a couple of apps, Geary and Cawbird (Twitter), don't appear to have a way to check for new messages. Is there something about the PP screen size that has cut off UI buttons? Or, are they just supposed to do that at some polling frequency?
Thanks.
