Possible to run ArmV7 Apps on Manjaro? |

Hope everyone has had a good Christmas.
Is it possible to Run 32bit (armv7) software on a 64bit Linux OS (Manjaro in this case). Goggling suggests that it is possible by enabling some sort of compatibility mode
Im trying to get betaflight-configurator runing on my PineBook Pro.
There isnt a release built for Linux on arm, but there are instructions for building for armv7 although this isnt officially supported.
I have managed to blindly follow the instructions and built for armv7 but it doesnt run on Manjaro.
I don t know if it is feasible to modify the the "gulpfile" to add an armv8 option or whether there is some wat to run the armv7 build on Manjaro by enabling the compatibility mode.
Any advice or pointers from bigger brains than mine would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Pinephone convergence dock issue. |

I have the Pinephone beta edition with convergence.
When I connect the Pine64 dock to the Pinephone, no matter what OS I am running, the Phosh shell reports the phone is undocked. I get HDMI output and USB connectivity but the OS detects the phone as undocked.
This behavior started when I connected a Dell M-UVDEL1 optical USB mouse to the dock's USB port. Connecting the mouse and moving it causes HDMI to disconnect and once caused the dock to make a weird noise.
Is there a fix or workaround for this, or is it possible that my dock is defective/damaged?
Thank you for your help!
EDIT: This behavior occurred because I did not power the dock via USB-C, after powering the dock using the USB-C cable that came with my Pinephone, it works as expected. This issue is solved.

Desktop gui gone |

Hi,
The 2nd time I started up my Pinebook Pro I was offered an "update".
After the update and rebooting the Desktop / Gui no longer appears.
It drops directly into a command line logon which I can manage.
How do I start the Desktop up?
Or how do I roll back the update so the Desktop will appear again?
I have tried to search for an answer but my novice status in Linux means I can't see to find the right keyword(s).
Thank you.

Water Tracking with Hidrate Spark 3 support |

Hi,
I'm posting another app project that I've just finished up. I was gifted a Hidrate Spark 3 water bottle by my last employer and I disliked the app the manufacturer provides.
So at long last, I have written a replacement (well, for the parts I wanted) that runs on Linux. This is extremely alpha, and to be honest, I've not actually tried it on my PinePhone yet. But, I've made a PinePhone app before and I didn't do anything special to make it work then, so this will probably work just fine.
https://github.com/mpnordland/agua_amiga
you can use
Code: $ poetry install
$ poetry build
to get a python package and the install it with pip on your PinePhone.
Then run
to start the app. All the data is stored in a sqlite db in ~/.local/share/agua_amiga/water.db.
Oh, it could work with other Hidrate bottles, I just haven't tested them. No need to pair the bottle, just have bluetooth on and it should find it.
I don't have any plans to continue this, but I thought y'all should know it exists as I'm not aware of another app that does this.
Hope it's useful.
Thanks,
Micah

PineTime CE conformity |

Hello,
it seems that the PineTime currently is not conforming to EU regulations. It's a pity because all that is missing is probably just a bit of paperwork. Do you think there is a way to contact Pine Microsystems Inc. and help them reach the last 5% that are currently missing to reach CE conformity?
Background: I had ordered a PineTime DevKit to Germany. It never reached me because customs had complaints about conformity. I had contacted sales, but so far I do not yet see a way forward, either to get a "fixed" DevKit or getting my money back. I would clearly prefer to get the DevKit.
What is needed to get EU conformity: There is a "CE" sticker on the manual, but that is not enough. As far as I understand it, you need a CE label on the device, probably both on the watch and the charger. In addition to the "CE", there needs to be a declaration for identification (type or similar) and declaration of the manufacturer. Something like:
CE
Manufacturer: Pine Microsystems Inc
Type: PineTime Charger v1.0
And there should be piece of paper included in the package, that is called declaration of conformity, and it needs to clearly identify the vendor, the watch and list the standards, probably
Safety: EN60950-1:2006+A11:2009+A1:2010+A12:2011+A2:2013
Health: EN62479:2010
EMC: ETSI EN 301 489-1 V2.1.1 (2017-02), ETSI EN 301 489-17 V3.1.1 (2017-02)
Radio: ETSI EN 300 328 V2.1.1 (2016-11)
The standards are what I got from sales, but from a verification of conformity, not from a declaration of conformity. And it did not not clearly refer to the PineTime. And It was not included in the package.
I know that EU bureaucracy can be very annoying, but improving PineTime paperwork would make a huge difference in user experience. As I said, customs did not let the watch through to me. With 4 additional labels and 1 piece of paper in the PineTime DevKit, I would probably be playing with my brandnew swartwatch now.
Best regards

Rock64 <--> Rock64 Serial Connection |

I'm trying to troubleshoot a booting problem with my Rock64 with an openSUSE Tumbleweed install on an eMMC. When I cat /sys/firmware/fdt while using my USB UART the output is garbled. I have a second Rock64 that I'd like to use instead of my USB UART. When I hookup the tx > rx and rx > tx , both Rock64 lockup. So, is there a way to use the 2nd Rock64 in this manner? Or, is there a way to get ungarbled output with my USB UART (My USB UART, which I've had for more than 3 years has a CH340G IC on it, and I'm using 11" factory made Dupont wires).
Here's a sample of the garbled output
Code: sh-5.1# cat /sys/firmware/fdt
