Suggestion: PineTV |

Apologies if this is the wrong place for suggestions, or if this has been suggested prior (did not see any results when searching).
With Smart TVs being increasingly problematic in regards to privacy, and with "Dumb TVs" becoming less and less available (and the ones that are available are questionable quality), I think a PineTV would be a great product to consider creating in the future.
I think a basic 4k tv with a few hdmi ports, a few USB ports, and a coax for antenna would be sufficient. For "smart" features I think Kodi integration would be ideal.
I imagine shipping logistics would be the trickiest part (I know TV shipping is problematic for larger companies due to risk of breakage, so Pine may be more at risk of this).
Thank you for considering

the Plasma Mobile Phone book takes over addresses from my nextcloud account. But it does not delete them, if I delete the account. If I reconnect the account, Phonebook will show a double set of contacts. Deleting a contact takes looong tim, if it deletes at all. Kadressbook can also connect with Nextcloud. It syncs correctly, it deletes contacts. But id does not dial and it is not made for smart phones.
How th freshen up (delete and rebuild) the data base of plasma mobile phonebook?

Hello,
My pinephone had UB ports on it and it worked. I wanted to put Manjaro with Plasma Mobile OS build on it to see how it had gone. So I connected it to Jumpdrive and connected it to one of my computers (windows 11). Then I used Balena Etcher to flash the OS image to the phone. That's when things went wrong. It didn't work. Windows anti virus came up with a fault which I didn't copy.
My pinephone didn't boot after that. What have I done wrong? Jumpdrive still works, but nothing else.

Modem problems with the distros I tried |

Hey there,
I've been trying to use my pinephone as a daily driver, but whatever distro I try, I am always experiencing issues with Cellular Data.
I for example tried Manjaro ARM, but sending sms didn't work (It just refused to send them). I recently tried PMPOS as well, but cellular data and calling (probably even sms at this point) didn't work.
How come that these pinephone distros have some weird problem with the modem?
What distros can You recommend in which the above worked flawlessly?
Thank You!

Steps Counter Reset |

Is there a way to set the time the steps reset?
They went back to zero too early in the day.
I would think the steps would fall back to zero after midnight
when the day is over. I don't know what time it reset,
but it happened in the evening for me.

How to install dependencies for Gajim? |

I used "sudo pacman -S gajim" to install Gajim. There are several dependencies listed in the Preferences under Audio/Video that have not been installed. How do I install these dependencies?
An example of an uninstalled dependency is "girl.2-farstream-0.2". I would like to try "pacman" to install it. Can someone give an example command including that dependency?
Thanks.

Battery Life Indicator Percentage |

Hi there! I'm new to using PineAnything. The first product I came across was the phone, and that led me to the watch. I'm not a programmer. I'm using the products purely as a consumer who enjoys open-source products and privacy. I own the PineTime and I just got started using it. I've installed version 1.7.1 and everything seems to be running smoothly. I have a question about the front face screen and the data presented on it. I'm wondering if it's possible to customize the way the battery life is displayed.
Is it possible to have the battery life indicator display a Percentage rather than a visual bar? I've always changed the settings on my phone to show me a number. I like knowing the exact percentage I have so I can judge my time better between charges. For example, knowing with 10% battery, I have (x) amount of hours left before this watch is dead. That's more useful to me than seeing a bar, which only tells me it's low on battery. I know you can go into settings, click battery, and then look at the exact percentage. It's just convenient to have that data right there on the top right of the screen. Like most phones do.

What is current best OS and desktop |

Not best place to ask this (in a manjaro-plasma forum) but I'm asking for opinions on what is "best" current OS and desktop combination for pinephone. Looking for SMS, MMS, and phone to be completely reliably working. Don't know where to pose this queston to a broader audience.
Anyone doing comparisons between setups (OS, DE).? I have been using manjaro/plasma as I heard 6 months ago or so that manjaro/plasma was most complete. It is getting there but things do not always work. I don't like the continually 1/2 screen operation. I also don't like when the system doesn't open desktop and you need to continually reboot and reenter pw.
Would anyone have knowledge of a combinatin OS/DE that has overtaken manjaro/plasma.
thanks for any opinions. I'm willing to do some testing. tom kosvic
