PinePhone Pro support for AT&T 4G
Posted by: realrichardsharpe@gmail.com - 03-30-2022, 12:21 PM - Forum: General Discussion of PinePhone Pro - Replies (1)

Having just disposed of a couple of phones that only really supported 3G as far as AT&T were concerned (did not support B17, it seems) my question is:

Does the PinePhone Pro really support AT&T?

This seems to be the list of bands it supports for G4:

  • LTE-FDD: B1/ B2/ B3/ B4/ B5/ B7/ B8/ B12/ B13/ B18/ B19/ B20/ B25/ B26/ B28

That does not include B17 which AT&T seems to be sensitive about.

Has anyone tried to connect a PinePhone Pro to AT&T?

  Pine Wifi Module

Has anyone gotten the Wifi module working?

https://pine64.com/product/rockpro64-1x1...-0-module/

"Based on Azurewave AW-CM256SM Combo Module and made specifically for the ROCKPro64 SBC"

I'm not a linux expert, and have never made packages to install drivers before so any kind of tutorial would be great.

Any way to get Pinephone Pro Dev edition still?
Posted by: Viengi28 - 03-30-2022, 09:09 AM - Forum: General Discussion of PinePhone Pro - Replies (1)

Hello everyone,

I'm a software dev currently specializing in blockchain technology. I wanted to ask if there's still a way to get the Pinephone pro developer edition. I see according to the website sales for the enhanced edition will become available only by the end of the year. Any offers for the dev edition?

  Convergence Working on PPP?
Posted by: joshndroid - 03-29-2022, 10:11 PM - Forum: PinePhone Pro Software - Replies (3)

Hey All,
I have seen a couple youtube vids of people with convergence working.
I have a nexdock, which works perfectly fine with an S21+ via USB C.
The dock also works with my pi4 with a type-c cable and hdmi.
I was trying to get same working with the PPP on Manjaro phosh or Plasma with no result (type-c cable only, much like the s21+).
Is it working in default manjaro or is there a distro where it is working out of the box as of yet?
Is it only working with a type-c to hdmi dongle?

The modem switch affects the connection to battery?
Posted by: JohnDoe - 03-29-2022, 08:55 PM - Forum: General Discussion on PinePhone - Replies (2)

(Sorry if something is wrong because I'm new here and English is not my native language)

As we all know, if you toggle the modem privacy switch the modem will be disconnected from the rest of the phone, but will it be completely powered off or only be running disconnected from the rest of the system?
It still drains battery?

  Factory installed operating systems
Posted by: bcnaz - 03-29-2022, 02:22 PM - Forum: General Discussion of PinePhone Pro - No Replies

I have been playing with the Pine phones since my original Brave Heart phone.

I think new users would have a better first experience if Pine64 installed just a "hardware testing operating system"....
..>  Like the original Brave Heart phone came with.

They can first verify their new phones hardware is functioning...

AND THEN,  try the different Distro's that are available.

Pine Store : Pine phone Pro Parts ?
Posted by: bcnaz - 03-29-2022, 01:58 PM - Forum: PinePhone Pro Hardware - Replies (7)

@tllim

The Pine64 Store needs to offer Replacement main boards for the new Pro series phones, PLEASE !

So many people have destroyed their sim card holders by simply "using the sim card adapters"  !

The only cure at this time is to buy a whole new phone !

The other parts, such as replacement screens may be helpful also.

  RK3399S running warm
Posted by: LPIZ - 03-29-2022, 10:33 AM - Forum: General Discussion of PinePhone Pro - Replies (8)

I have a question with the RK3399S. I find that with normal use of the PPP, the back of the phone gets fairly warm and I assume this is a result of the RK3399S. Is this because the software/OS has yet to be optimized to take advantage of the RK3399S, or does the RK3399S notoriously run warm?

Lightbulb Saving, loading, sending and receiving images via Bluetooth to and from Pinetime
Posted by: danimations - 03-29-2022, 01:21 AM - Forum: General Discussion on PineTime - No Replies

I'd love to see the Pinetime become a more customisable accessory in the "fashion" sense of the word. To achieve this, more customisable watch faces seem like a worthwhile goal. Infinitime (or other Pinetime-compatible operating systems) would need to facilitate the storing, loading, sending and receiving of images to be displayed on the device. They could be displayed either as full screen display graphics, or as backgrounds appearing beneath clock elements.

How realistic would it be to implement these functions, given the device's hardware constraints? Obviously the device handles Bluetooth data receiving well, as that's how the firmware is updated on "sealed" units. The only smart watch I've played with so far is a Pinetime, but I've seen images used as backgrounds/wallpaper on other brands of smart watch. Given the Pinetime screen resolution is only 240 x 240 pixels, the image files should be workably small. I'm really keen to customise my Pinetime further and see this as a great way to increase the public appeal of the device.

I've made this a feature request (via "Infinitime/Issues") over at Github.. if you like the idea, you're welcome to pop over there and give it a vote of support or comment.
