Reinstall Ubuntu Touch on PinePhone with 10 drives?
Posted by: Peter Gamma - 05-16-2022, 05:01 AM - Forum: UBPorts on PinePhone - Replies (4)

I installed Ubuntu Touch according this instruction:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf0zwq6jI30

It worked fine. Then I tried to install LibreOffice with several methods:

https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=16614

None of them worked. I thought that there could be a memory problem, because I received several error messages regarding this topic, so I decided to reinsall Ubuntu Touch with the above method.

But when I connect my PinePhone via JumpDrive to a running Echer software

- and I want to select a target, I can see the 32 GB SD external card with JumpDrive

then I see another JumpDrive USB device with 15 GB with drive letters D – Q (10 differnt drives). When I unplug the usb cable of the PinePhone, the 10 drives dissapear, as well as the external card with JumpDrive.

I am confused about the 10 drives on the PinePhone. They where not there during my fist installation. My goal is to reinstall Ubuntu Touch. But which target drive shall I choose? This is confusing. Or is there a way to reformat the PinePhone to get rid of the 10 drives? Angry .

Shut down button on developer releases

Does the shut down button works in the updown window in pinephone pro? My system is blocked if I touch this button and the "on" button does not work as before to bring the three icons insight. Latest developer releases

charging 3 rockpro64 from single source
Posted by: rpt312 - 05-15-2022, 06:04 PM - Forum: RockPro64 Hardware and Accessories - Replies (1)

I am very new to rockpro64. I am looking for charging 3 rockpro64 from a single source. Below are the things I have checked:
1. PoE using switch - I checked the documentation and the home page, but there is no mention of PoE.
2. Charging from USB - I have no idea and tried my best to find it but don't find enough information.
3. Charging from usb3 - I have no idea and tried my best to find it but don't find enough information.

It would be very helpful if someone have any information that can help me.

  Pinephone Pro LCD and Touchscreen
Posted by: Hobgoblin - 05-15-2022, 11:12 AM - Forum: PinePhone Pro Hardware - Replies (8)

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are doing well! Yesterday while out for a hike, I managed to drop my pinephone pro which has led to the screen looking like a spider's web. The screen doesn't turn on so I assume I managed to break both the touchscreen and the LCD.

Looking at the wiki it doesn't appear the OG Pinephone and the Pro version use the same screen (I may have ready it wrong), I am curious if anyone knows when the LCD might be available to order since it appears only the OG Pinephone LCD is available on the store.

I appreciate any help in this.

Regards,

Gj

  Cellular data is working!
Posted by: drh - 05-15-2022, 09:02 AM - Forum: Mobian on PinePhone - No Replies

Received update that included new version of network manager and an asdociated library. Now my pinephone works with t-mobile cellular data. I did not have to do anything with the command line.

Thanks developers! Super appreciated.

  clusterboard availability?
Posted by: linear - 05-14-2022, 10:21 PM - Forum: Clusterboard - Replies (1)

i have a project i am putting together and if the exploration phase goes well, i would be wanting to buy somewhere around 10 clusterboards, and SOEdge modules to fill them.

is there any possibility that we'll be seeing these back in stock soon? or is my only hope to find people in the community who are looking to get rid of theirs?

  update kills keyboard
Posted by: ludgate - 05-14-2022, 11:03 AM - Forum: General Discussion on PinePhone - Replies (1)

Keyboard was clipping along w/ the Manjaro Plasma 5.17.1-2-MANJARO-ARM that
came w/ the fon (plus a few upgrades) till a few days ago when a routine
upgrade took it down.  Unresponsive, and no kb151 showing up in dmesg. Doesn't
affect the fon.

Haven't found where kb151 is kept to save for manual install, what calls it or
when (doesn't show up in >cat /proc/cmdline), find doesn't find it, plocate
doesn't locate it, and the net is curiously mum but for two short references
on Megous.

I've flashed the ManjaroOS to an SD-card a few times and each time it boots
into a working keyboard.  Then an update will disable it.

From what I've gleaned online kb151 is a module that comes w/ the kernel, in
wh/ case it can't be activated if it's not there.

What's the fix?

  Suspend audio issue
Posted by: kmsgli - 05-13-2022, 08:23 PM - Forum: PinePhone Pro Software - Replies (4)

Has anyone figured out a way to fix the audio issue on resume with the pro?

I have been really wanting to switch from OG pinephone to my pro but without the ability to answer a call after suspend I cant do it.

Has anyone found a hack or way to make it work?

Looking for guidance on setting up with external RTC
Posted by: Ditchmagnet - 05-13-2022, 05:22 PM - Forum: Linux on Rock64 - No Replies

Hi,
I'm currently using a Raxda Rock Pi 4, running Ubuntu Server 20.04.  I'm using it with grabserial to automatically create logs from a serial port I need to record.

I need to setup a bunch more locations doing this, so I was looking at the ROCK64_v2.0 on amazon since its just $30 for a whole kit.

I will be needing RTC functionality though since the locations I will have to put these wont have network access and I don't want to have to go set the time manually in the event of a power outage.

I have been trying to do some research on adding RTC to the ROCK64 and found that it appears possible.

According to this-
https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?...4#pid44024

It looks like they are using Ubuntu 18.04 there which will hopefully still be compatible with the usb-to-serial cables I'll use.

I think the RTC module he is using is this one on amazon-
https://www.amazon.com/AT24C32-Replace-A...r=8-5&th=1

But I also saw this thread -
https://forum.armbian.com/topic/8856-sol...k64-board/
Saying that this part was compatible with Armbian-
https://www.amazon.com/Adafruit-3296-DS1...119&sr=8-3

Additionally, it appears that this particular module is more accurate, which is the SN model-
https://www.amazon.com/Adafruit-3296-DS1...C83&sr=8-3

SO! Does what I want to do sound feasible? It also sounds like I could run Ubuntu 20.04 according to this post-
https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?...3#pid65313

I'm not sure I'm up to the task of getting the RTC module to work, I haven't every compiled a kernel etc, so this would really be a learning experience, but I'm worried I might get stuck too.

Any suggestions or insights would be appreciated!
