I can't get my Quartz64 to boot, but interested if anyone has even attempted ubuntu server yet.

Hi,

Have just got my PinebookPro back working after being broken for 6 months. Still has the default Manjaro distro. Has 800 updates and the updates fail. Not very enthusiastic to try to fix it. 

The current OS never worked great. Sound volume is extremely weak. And for some reason only 5Ghz wifi works.

Was thinking this is a good time to do a new OS installation. 

From the point of view that things work as good as possible after installation I would like opinions about what the most mature OS / less bad option available at this time for this hardware?

My 4GB Model A came in today and I've got no boot activity. Tried with BAT jumper on and off, with and without sdcard in place. Possible DOA or is there a trick to this?

Hi all,

I downloaded the Manjaro-ARM-minimal-pine-h64-22.04 from Manjaro and flashed it onto an 16GB SD-Card, followed all the on-screen setup instructions/questions, SD-Card got resized and System was up and running.

Next I did the update with pacman and it revoked and signed some keys and had 80something files to update, confirmed with Y and let it run.
After pacman was finished I did a reboot and ended up with a black screen.... Rolleyes

Why doesn't the latest releases for PBP spec Manjaro images patch this sleep brick problem and the drunk mouse pad problem? How to fix sleep brick?

Am I using the wrong version? What is the difference of https://github.com/manjaro-arm/pbpro-ima.../tag/22.04 and https://github.com/manjaro-arm/pbpro-ima...g/20220606

Help me with this and ill change my username.

Yesterday I upgraded Arch-Phosh with "pacman -Syyu". After powering off and on (booting from SD via TowBoot), there was no splash screen, and the screen was not backlit.
Today, I burned the latest release (20220502) to the same SD; the phone booted fine. I was quickly notified of a Software update, so I used Software app to upgrade again, with the same result; after powering off and on, there was no splash screen, and the screen was not backlit.
I switched to Manjaro-Phosh SD and ran "pacman -Syyu" and got the same result.



Anybody got an ETA on resolution?
For now I will run Arch-Phosh 20220502. I will have to torch my Firefox profile since I was running Firefox 101 and will now be stuck with Firefox 97 (there is probably a cute way to make pacman upgrade only firefox and all of its dependencies, but a quick search yielded nothing, and upgrading just Firefox did not work).

Hi,

I'm new to pinetime development, so I used @lupyuen manual and managed to flash the mynewt firmware over rust with Raspberry pie 3.

Now, I would like to use the bluetooth on the pinetime and connect it to a flutter application on my android device.

I managed to run the flutter application using flutblue and also manage to discover some bluetooth devices, but not the pinetime itself.

what am I missing?

Hey,

I hope this script can be useful to someone, but basically the instructions are in the github.

Its a cron job that runs to check if the modem is there, and if it isn't there it will wake it up.

This should work on systemd, too, but it may need some tweaking, as I haven't tested it on systemd.

Well hello fwens,

On the page https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/ROCKPro64_Software_Release the first debian option works *ok* as far as graphics but is spanking fast file and cpu wise when you do a manual partitioning and put /boot ext2 on the SD that the installer was made on BUT put / ext4 on a PCI to SSD adapter (I am using an old m.2 macbook air SSD with a PCI adapter). Anyone have any hints on GPU stuff with a vanilla debian on this chip? I love the storage speed but would like to do somme retroarch lol.

If anyone has tips or pointers on how to make this better or would like to know more on how to do this install let me know.

Has anyone tried if the Quartz64 Model A fits in the RockPro64 NAS case?

I am currently thinking about updating my NAS to the Quartz64 for a bit more power.
But I really like the NAS case for my RockPro64, so I would love to be able to keep it and just change the board.
