Change GUI from Phost to Gnome (or anything else) |

Hello Community,
I'm running mobian-installer-pinephone-phosh-20220327 and it's working great except the GUI Phosh is driving me crazy - one in every three times I want to press spacebar it pulls up the app overview making me want to throw the phone towards the floor...
I wanted to try the original Gnome as recommended here but I ran into unmet dependencies problem:
Code: # apt install gdm3
Reading package lists... Done
...
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libmutter-10-0 : Breaks: libgtk-3-0 (< 3.24.33-2~) but 3.24.33-1mobian1 is to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
Does anybody know how to fix it? Or which GUI are you guys running on top of Mobian? I'm willing to try anything as long as it does not have spacebar and "show apps" next to each other within 2milimeters on the screen...
Thank you in advance

Can't install software via Discover or Terminal |

Oke, I'ved tried to install Signal but whatever I do, I get a lot of error and don't know why!
First the easy way, install Manjaro, configure it and go to Discover and search for Signal. Once clicked on it, immediately the first error:
signal-desktop;5.43.0-1;aarch64;community: could not find or read package
I ignore that and I press the install button and after a few seconds I get the next error:
Package download failed
So I'm going to try it with the Terminal! First enable snapd, with
$ sudo pacman -S snapd
Guess what! I get a couple of errors, with the first line:
snapd-2.55.5-1-aarch64.pkg.tar.zst failed to downloaderror: failed retrieving file 'snapd-2.55.5-1-aarch64.pkg.tar.zst' from manjaro.moron.eu : The requested URL returned error: 404
Is there something I need to do before? Or is there something with the image I chooses?

Using Windows 10 to install SailfishOS |

Oke, I installed Ubuntu Touch, Arch Linux, Jumpdrive, Multi-distro and Manjaro. Manjaro seems to be the most suitable OS for me, but I want to play with SailfishOS. The SailfishOS on the multiboot doesn't load properly (like most of the loaders don't on the multiboot) so I have to install it by myself. Now here comes the tricky part for me, because I can't find an image, only flash-it.sh that uses another way that, for me, doesn't look familiar what I used to do. I work on a Windows 10, sorry...
Is there an tutorial or easy step by step? I found this in the comments of a YouTube video:
"...Then simply open Etcher and select that Pinephone EMMC from inside etcher, and flash the SailfishOS onto this...."
But the files I found don't even do a thing! Where to find an image?
EDIT: I find another way to make an image in 'raw', so forgot this topic

RockPro64 premium aluminium casing |

I'm considering ordering a RockPro64. There is an aluminium case for it that has a "Built-in heat pipe (plate) that directly contact[s] with SoC". Has anybody used one of these cases and does it provide adequate cooling?
If that is the case than I would probably first install Slackwarearm out of the case and then install the board in the case after the install. Would installing without a heat sink or heat sink with fan pose a risk of overheating and damaging the SoC?

Text pixelated |

I just had to reboot my PinePhone after it decided to sleep and not wake up. I don't know if it is as a result of an unclean shutdown or first reboot after updates of the last couple of days but now all text on the screen is unpleasantly pixelated.
I have been running with 100% screen scaling and large text set in the accessibility settings and all has been fine until today.
The pixelation is clearly visible at 150% scaling and using Gnome Tweak to increase font sizes to 13 does not help. All text everywhere (apps and webpages) is affected.Including VLC which uses qt.
Anyone else seeing this problem?

Signal on Ubuntu Touch |

First of all, I'm Kimberley and I'm new to Pine64 Phone!
I'm familiar with Raspberry and I've played with different OS. Now I own a Pine Phone and I can't work with the commands I'm used to. Just to give a simple example, I can't seem to get Signal Messenger on my Pine. Tried with Ubuntu Touch and Arch Linux.
Is there an OS that is more like the familiar old Terminal? Or do I get it wrong?

Flatpak on Bookworm |

I just hosed my install and grabbed the latest Tow-Boot and Bookworm for Pinephone.
Everything installs ran my updates but I am not getting any hits on flatpak...
Try flatpack update and it says 'nothing to do'.
As a side note I also hosed my big SD card leaving it in during install and rushing options after jump-driving over the install image with tow-boot.
wasnt paying attention and overwrote all of my media and my saved contacts, whoops... don't do that.
<edit>
So I had forgoten to add the flatpak sources
Code: flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
I will add that step to the wiki.
