New user/phone here - initial update issues |

Hi!
New to the pinephone and this forum. I just got my new pinephone in the mail today and am running into some issues after trying to install initial updates.
Here's what happened:
- Installed initial ~1Gb software updates through Discover, it rebooted and installed them fine
- Discover said I had 600+ additional updates to install, but the size was 0 bytes
- Tried to install those multiple times. It rebooted, said it was installing updates but every time I re-opened Discover it said those 600+ 0 byte updates still needed to be installed
- Decided to update through cli instead and ran sudo pacman -Syu
- Updates installed, rebooted, but every time it restarts Discovery says that there was a "failed offline update" for the hwdata package. Offers the open discover or repair system buttons. The repair system button does nothing, and when I try to update through both discover and cli it says I'm "all up to date"
- However, the on-screen keyboard is now broken (it hangs for a few seconds when I type something, then closes, and then reopens but doesn't type anything)
Any advice on what I should do now?
Should I just re-flash this and start again, or is there some cli repair system package command I can run?
For the record, at some point I recall running
sudo rm /var/lib/pacman/db.lck
Due to an issue related to this
I've used KDE a lot but only on Debian-based systems so I'm a little fresh at this, thanks!

Hello
On one out of ten occasions the phone does not wake up from deep sleep. This started one week ago. Is this a known issue (which has a workaround/cure)?
Hardware: OG-PP
OS: Bookworm
Pressing the power button (short), call the phone number, plug in power supply, nothing wakes the system up again.
Only a hard reboot (pressing the power button long) brings it bake to life.
last log entries:
Code: Jun 28 23:16:56 mobian systemd[1]: Reached target Sleep.

Jun 28 23:16:56 mobian systemd-sleep[4075]: Entering sleep state 'suspend'...

Is there a layout diagram, photo, or video online for the PBPro? Specifically I want to identify the EMMC chip and switch. Any links would be welcome. (I have searched, but without success.)
My PBPro has suddenly developed a non-booting problem, which looks as though it may be the one described in the documentation involving the EMMC and its associated switch position. Before I open it up and start fumbling around inside, I'd like to be sure I'm messing with the right parts.

Hi forum,
I have been trying to use my PPP explorer edition with latest beta Manjaro Phosh. I am finding that whoever calls me just gets bombed with the sound of their own voice.
I have tried playing with the volume levels of mic and speaker, both with gnome settings, and pulse control. I even tried setting the volume all the way down for everything and it still happens.
Is this maybe a hardware thing?

Recent updates broke our on screen keyboards. The top row composing of the arrow keys in Console windows disappears. While in portrait mode the on on screen keyboard consumes the majority of the screen. Do we have fixes?

Hi,
recently, i got the Pine A64 2GB. I bought a SanDisk Ultra Class10 32GB sdcard to flash the OS on it.
I tried a bunch of OS's but none of them were booting.
After reading a couple of threads in this forum about the power that the Pine needs to run, i bought a matching charger and a cable. With that, i was able to boot Android 5.1. But none of the other OS's like Remix_OS, Armbian and others boot.
To flash the sdcard, i use Etcher for windows 10 attachted to a 2.0 Cardreader thats connected to an 3.0 port. That flashes the OS about three times faster than the 2.0 port. I mention that because i dont know if the port might cause the problem due to the speed the 3.0 port provide. Like, the OS flashes too fast or something like that. I'm a bit desperate.
In general, i'm fine with android but i would like to try different OS's.
Is there something missing or am i doing something wrong?
Thanks for your help!

Is running mainline linux possible and usable on Quartz?
Last time I checked (some time ago), Rockpro64 seemed to be the way to go for people looking for a fully libre (aka blobless) solution.
