I hope you guys can help me get started on this one.

At the moment did the following and got stuck:

- Quartz model A board, with power and HDMI connected to external monitor
- Downloaded & Installed Balena Etcher in my Ubuntu
- Downloaded latest armbian image (Notice Armbian download link is broken on the Pine website)

Installed this on the EMMC card. Is there any switch to tell the board that needs to boot from the emmc or is automatic?
   

When I turn on the board, guess it's the Power button, do not get (so far anything) using HDMI.
Question: It would be really great to make a "getting started" section where is a bit more explained how to get started with this.

I know is only for developers, but developers don't necessarily need to be Rocket scientists to install Linux in a board

So, I've wanted to buy the PineBook Pro, but I can't see the Ukraine option in the menu. Please fix this ASAP (I know about the war. I just wanted to buy it later)

When I receive images in Chatty v0.6.4, they all show up as text.



I can receive XMPP images using Dino-im.

XMPP images work fine between Android phones using Conversations app. 

Is this a known issue with Chatty? Does anybody else have this problem? I would prefer to use Chatty over Dino-im because it has better notifications.

Is there any workaround? My wife is going to be pretty ticked because I can't see the photos she sends me. Can I do something with this ridiculously long link to view it?

Filenames with Asian characters in the name are not displaying correctly (I've tested Chinese, Japanese, and Korean). They just the little Unicode boxes with their code point values. I've tested it in Terminal, Portfolio, Lollypop, and Firefox.

Other languages (such as Norwegian, Russian, French, and Farsi) display just fine. I also tried switching to the keyboard layout for Chinese/Japanese/Korean but it just displays the default English layout.

Has anyone been able to get Asian characters to show up correctly?

Hi, fellow user @Hook and I are getting flustered with the state of the keyboard case driver in Manjaro/Phosh. Looks like Mobian is having trouble too. I've commented in a few other places, including in the Manjaro forum, and it seems like we might be the only ones.

- Previous big update renamed the kb151 driver, effectively borking it. We used the userspace driver instead, which worked as expected.

- A week or so ago, the next big update seemed to restore the kernel driver BUT:
  - The current kernel driver is missing the punctuation accessible with fn-shift-# (including - and +)
  - Something is preventing the userspace driver from loading, even after disabling the renamed pinephone-keyboard module. So we end up with no keyboard.

Does anyone know what's going on? These are starting to feel like Windows updates 

Another oddity - with the latest update, not all USB keyboards (connected to the Pinephone USB-C as a workaround) work anymore. I'm wondering if there is some defiant engineer out there determined to get us using the virtual keyboard.

This is so close to being the perfect pocket PC!

Currently, I am running Mobian + phosh on a PP Beta. I have the latest version of Mobian, so I have tow boot installed on the eMMC.

I am thinking about switching to Manjaro + phosh. How can I do this safely while preserving my tow boot boot loader?

I have searched online but can't find a definitive answer for this as tow boot is so new. Most people talking about tow boot online are PPP users.

My Idea:
- flash Manjaro installer installation to sd card
- boot from sd card and install to eMMC
(will that erase tow boot? or cause me boot problems?)

I'm wondering if anybody here has tried to do this? or could offer some guidance on this?

so ive been fiddling with the thought oof getting a pinetab for quite some time now.
Do to pine64 not selling pinetabs at the moment i think the next best move of action is to look for a used one.
If anyone is willing to sell there's withjkeyboard (prev. in EU) please PM me.

Second im interested as in how well it performs as an daily driver. Of course do to its hardware limitations only so much can be expected but aside from that how does it handle daily tasks?

Hi,

my mobile network provider provides both - IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity but when I switch on Hotspot I get IPv4 connectivity only for connected device. I tested with Debian 11 and Android - and no IPv6.

Does anybody know what the problem is or is this a limitation from my mobile network provider?
