How to fix tracking page showing nothing
Posted by: MegaMech - 04-22-2016, 02:03 PM - Forum: Shipment Related Discussion - No Replies

TL;DR paste your tracking number into 17track.net instead of the default USPS that is included in the shipping e-mail. (Unless of course the USPS one works for you)

When I got an email saying my pine was shipping it had a link to USPS. My package is going from some Chinese shipper to Canada Post. (Not USPS) Which means the USPS link is blank, it doesn't show anything for that tracking number
Should have just emailed a link to 17track.net or similar website that can track pretty much all shippers. 17track.net has a very pleasant looking website. I've read a few reddit posts or something of people who were confused that nothing ever showed up on their USPS tracking page. Probably because their package never went through USPS. They said they did receive their boards though.

Just thought I'd mention it so if anyone else wants to know how far along their package is, they can find out. I certainly didn't even realize something like this was possible until I started buying things from aliexpress and they recommend 17track as well.

Ugh, Canadian shipping is soooo slow!

How the power button is supposed to work?
Posted by: rakib-hasan - 04-22-2016, 12:28 PM - Forum: Android on Pine A64(+) - Replies (8)

I got the Pine64 2GB and flashed Android 03032016 image and it's working great so far.

For the push button, I connected it as a power button. When I push the button with android running, the display goes blank but the red light on the Pine64 stays on. So, it seems to continue to be at running state but no display. But I don't know how to bring back the display. If I unplug and plug back the power cable, it reboots just fine.

Could anyone explain how the power button is supposed to work on Android?

  Remix OS issues:
Posted by: shepscrook - 04-22-2016, 08:12 AM - Forum: Remix OS - Replies (7)

1: Plug a network cable into the network port and the system pretty much hangs and reboots. (resolved this by reloading the current beta while having the network cable plugged in)
2: Remix OS pretty much hangs on anything. (After reloading, this seems to happen very little).
3. Obviously some Google Play applications just won't be compatible with this device or version. (Not shocking).
4. Downloads while being hardlined to network, are painfully slow.
5. Screensaver does not work.

Will update list as I find things. Feel free to post your issues too. Maybe we can form a large list.

Anyone else seeing these? is there a fix?

Posted by: jereze - 04-22-2016, 04:34 AM - Forum: Ubuntu - Replies (9)

Hi,

I recently received my Pine64 and successfully installed an Ubuntu image (longsleep xenial-pine64-bspkernel-20160403).
I can connect to Internet using the Ethernet connection.

How can I install the official Bluetooth/WiFi module?

Thanks for your help.

  Graphical glitch after bootup
Posted by: kylev2015 - 04-22-2016, 03:04 AM - Forum: Getting Started - Replies (2)

Hi everyone,

Just got my Pine64 512mb, plugged into monitor. Flashed Remix to 8GB MicroSD card. Plugged in powersupply. Unit boots, but then has a graphical glitch right after?

Tried multiple power sources and USB cables - can't be the HDMI as first screen is fine.

RPi.GPIO python module for Pine A64/A64+
Posted by: aquilegia - 04-22-2016, 12:39 AM - Forum: Pi2, Euler and Exp GPIO Ports - Replies (98)

I just ported RPi.GPIO python module for Pine A64/A64+.
You can download the package from https://github.com/swkim01/RPi.GPIO-PineA64.
Thank to joey for gpio pin information.
However, the event detect function was not operated yet.
I guess the kernel's gpio driver has to be modified to enable gpio interrupts.

  Does any Os work yet?
Posted by: ianrob99 - 04-21-2016, 11:24 PM - Forum: Getting Started - Replies (4)

I don't know if I am particularly unlucky but every version of Op system I have tried either dies or just doesn't do anything after sign on even after leaving fora bout 20 minutes.  I have the 2gb 64 bit Pine and have tried to date Debian - gives up ghost after initial load!, Ubuntu started to look good but when trying to load firefox and Thunderbird stated something wrong and tried to report without success, gave up after 20 minutes staring at the aport icon.

I used to run various flavours of Linux including Fedora, Ubuntu and Suse on Intel Pcs so am not frightened to dig in a try things but really don't know where to start.  Indeed ran my business on Linux for a number of years before transferring to Apple.

Can any one recommend a working Linux distro for the pine 64 2GB or do I give up and buy a Raspberry?

  Pine64 Board Appeared Dead (SOLVED)
Posted by: Waunaplay - 04-21-2016, 08:34 PM - Forum: General Discussion on PINE A64(+) - No Replies

Hi All,
I received my Pine64 2 Gig board as promised.  When I got it, I immediately took to getting it up and running, however, I was quickly stumped.

First, the light was red, which usually indicates an error, I read up and found that it is just the color of the power light.

Second, I loaded Android on an SD card following the instructions, but when I plugged the board in nothing would appear on the screen. The red light was lit up, but it seemed like the thing was dead. Nothing showed on the screen. I tried Remix, but no difference. I began to suspect that I had a bad board. Tonight, the thought occurred to me, that maybe it wasn't the board. I plugged the board into my TV and found it was working just fine.  The problem was my HDMI to DVI computer monitor setup.  I believe the resolution of the board exceeded what my monitor could handle, and therefore just didn't display anything at all. I still have no idea how to dial back the resolution so my monitor will work, but that is a solvable problem. At least I know the board is good.

If you suspect your board is dead, try hooking it up to an HDMI TV input.

Hope this helps others,

Wauna
