  Asterisk/FreePBX
Posted by: timchampion - 02-03-2016, 04:46 PM - Forum: Linux on Pine A64(+) - Replies (1)

I currently have a Raspberry Pi running RasPBX. I was hoping that I would be able to use my Pine64 as a more powerful Asterisk server that would hopefully be able to support more concurrent calls.

As everyone else has been saying, when get my board, I look forward to seeing if I can get Asterisk and FreePBX installed.

Sad Problems making the boot sd card (android)
Posted by: Tarjei85 - 02-03-2016, 12:32 PM - Forum: Getting Started - Replies (16)

Hi I have some problems making the android OS "work" for my Pine (havent recieved the Pine yet but am preparing).
After using the PhenixCard software and getting the progressbar to the max and the "done" notification I checked the sd-card but there is nothing on it. Still 119 of 119Gb free space (Im using a 128Gb card).
Have I misundstood anything? Does the phoenixcard software only make the sdcard bootable or is it supposed to copy the android image to the card as well.

  multiple serial ports
Posted by: peterz - 02-03-2016, 10:08 AM - Forum: POT modules - Replies (3)

Hi all,

I'm working on small project where I need several serial ports (RS232) for accessing console port on NW switches/routers.
I have already tried several USB->RS232 converters connected over USB hub to PC and it works. Problem however is it causes huge "web" of cables.
Is there some module which would support lets say 8x RS232 ports?
I found in documentation for GPIO connector some UART pins, so at least 1x RS232 should be possible. But is possible to have them more from 1 PINE?
On forums related to raspberry pi I found some suggestions for FTDI4232 chip which can handle 4x RS232. I however can't built such module on my own. Sad

Is there a plan to build module for serveral RS232?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

BR,
Peter

  Battery + Charging question
Posted by: adk_mechetech - 02-03-2016, 08:26 AM - Forum: Lithium and RTC Ports - Replies (2)

So I love the fact that the PINE64 has native support for LIPO batteries, but I can't seem to fine any specifications for charging.

I wanted to know what the maximum charge current available is.  It's great to have a 5-10Ah battery, but if you can only charge it at 500mA then it's a bit pointless.  I was hoping for at least a 1A charge but preferably a 2-5A charge.

  CyanogenMod 13
Posted by: Hahaburger - 02-02-2016, 05:43 PM - Forum: Android on Pine A64(+) - Replies (23)

I've built CM 13 for pine64.
Here is the first bootable ROM link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5NrIPX...sp=sharing
How to install:
-First you have to prepare your SDCard with PhoenixCard on Windows with offical Android image.
-Download and extract the files on Linux.
-Format system and data partitions on your SDCard as Ext4.
-Write system and boot images with dd command.

Note: Data is in first partition in SDCard. System is in 7th partition and boot is in 6th partition.

Known issues:
-Heavy graphical problems (Screen goes black very frequently)
-No wifi and bluetooth
-Drmserver crashes

Video Australia/New Zealand Z-Wave module
Posted by: Jnimmo - 02-02-2016, 02:17 PM - Forum: POT modules - Replies (46)

Hi all

"We currently provide two types of frequency ranges: 868MHz for EU and 908MHz for US. We will produce 921Mhz for Australia/New Zealand region when there is enough request."

Just wanted to register my request for a 921Mhz z-wave module, this would make Pine64 a great choice here. If anyone else is interested please voice your support here too

Cheers

Lightbulb Help me find the right OS
Posted by: T_ech - 02-01-2016, 05:05 PM - Forum: Linux on Pine A64(+) - Replies (2)

Hi, I am currently looking for the best Linux OS for my new entertainment center here is what I need

  • Highly customizable
  • Lots of apps (not fan made ones, ones that come from the devs or the company that make the program)
  • Install movies and music to OS so you can play it. (Kind of the point of a media center right?)
Thanks Smile
