Lightbulb Pinebook SDIO gpio control using SD card slot blog post
Posted by: MarkHaysHarris777 - 07-20-2017, 04:56 PM - Forum: Pinebook Hardware and Accessories - Replies (15)

This is my first experiment with bringing some of the A64 gpio mux lines to the outside via the SD card slot;  SDIO.  These are data lines D0-D3, CMD, CLK, VDD, & VSS.  The lines are gpio160 - gpio166;  PF0 - PF6.

The pic above is the 48cm ribbon cable that extends the SD micro slot to a full size card adapter;  this ribbon is useful in itself;  but I plan to modify it for pin access on a solderable bread-board.

These two shots are the modified ribbon cable;  this was actually easier than I expected.  The cable will extend under the notebook.

The two shots above show the finished cable running;  I have the green and red LED(s) initially connected to CMD and CLK.  These are pulsing at regular 3/4 second intervals (or so).  The gpio(s) are not useful in this state;  next I need to hack the dts and make sure that the pin function register has '0' s.

Can I use Citrix receiver on Pinebook?
Posted by: eishi - 07-19-2017, 09:35 PM - Forum: Linux on Pinebook - Replies (1)

I want to use Citrix receiver, but we can do to download it
that made by ARM HF and ARM LF architecture on Citrix web site.
But ARM HF and ARM LF are diffarent from ARM64  architecture.
Can Pinebook run a software made by ARM HF or ARM LF architecture?
Or is there any other good way?

[Problem] help find R110~R113 resistors on board to LCD Rotation 180deg
Posted by: msmmbl - 07-19-2017, 08:24 PM - Forum: LCD and Touch Panel - Replies (2)

I have an old MIPI LCD panel. It works fine with pine64 2GB version. I want to rotate the screen 180deg. I checked the board schematic and found the MIPI L/R Pin is 0, U/D is 1, which means LCD is mirrored and upside down.

So, I want to make L/D pin 1, U/D pin 0, which means LCD is in default direction according to the datasheet. Move the resistor R113 to R112, R111 to R110. I have two problems:

1. Where is the R110 to R113 on board?
2. The resistors are very tiny and it is difficult to move them. I am using Android 6. Is this have other way to rotate screen 180deg without rotate the touch panel?

  Question on audio output
Posted by: cootcraig - 07-19-2017, 07:59 AM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook - Replies (6)

I just received my pinebook and I'm enjoying getting used to it, so far I'm using the installed Ubuntu/Mate system.

There are two aspects of the audio output that I wonder about.

1) low volume
2) speakers stay on when I plug in headphones.

The volume function buttons are working, but the highest volume is not loud enough

Alguien me lee (y entiende)?

Saludos!

---

Have you tried the PINE64 Installer? (Make sure you choose the Pinebook option in the dropdown when choosing which image to use)

https://github.com/pine64dev/PINE64-Installer

Also ensure you are using a good qualilty MicroSD card. There have been a few issues recently with SanDisk Class 10 (red and grey) cards with the Pinebook. I would recommend you get some Samsung EVO microSD cards, especially if you wish to try Android from a microSD card.

Will PINE A64+ (2GB) be ever ready for the makers?
Posted by: aromring - 07-18-2017, 11:51 AM - Forum: General Discussion on PINE A64(+) - Replies (17)

I've supported PINE64 project from its beginning. I wanted to use it for my electronics projects as a self-contained unit (i.e., without lugging a big monitor, Ethernet cable, mouse/keyboard, etc.). This means it has to work with the LCD touch panel sold along with it.

I have tested the following three OSs with these criteria:
1) The OS has to support GPIO access
2) The OS has to support working WiFi
3) The OS has to support LCD Touch panel

Here are the results:

Android 6.0.1: 2) and 3), but not 1)
Android 7.1: 1) and 2), but not 3)
openSUSE for PINE64: 1) and 3), but not 2) (astonishingly, it does not want to work with the Realtek WiFi driver!)

Is there ANY operating system out there that supports 1), 2), and 3)? Will there ever be?

Is there an android tv image out there where I can install netflix?
Posted by: eclay - 07-17-2017, 04:17 PM - Forum: Android on Pine A64(+) - Replies (2)

I've tried to flash the only andorid tv image found in the pine64 etcher tool, which I believe was 7.1, I couldn't find netflix in the app store.  Is there an existing image that will allow me to easily install the netflix?  I'm not sure how to manually install the app from the android tv interface.  If that is my only option does anyone have some steps I could follow?
