  Pinebook Keyboard and Stand
Posted by: MarkHaysHarris777 - 08-11-2017, 06:56 AM - Forum: Pinebook Hardware and Accessories - Replies (2)

The two pics (above) show the modified Pinebook desk;  I have added the stand ( by Targus ) and the keyboard ( by Logitech; K400+ ) to solve two systemic problems with the Pinebook, namely that the screen is too low for ergonomic viewing, and the built-in keyboard "missing keypresses" issue is unbearable ( intolerable ).

The Targus stand props the Pinebook at the right ergonomic angle for pleasant viewing, and the the Logitech K400+ usb keyboard and built-in trackpad gives me full functionality of keyed input with the right touch and correct response on the trackpad !

I did have to reset the defaults ( hardware keyboard layouts ) and I did need to turn up the sensitivity and acceleration on the trackpad since the Logitech has a more "normal" feel ( YMMV ).

I am in the stages of removing the built-in keyboard module ( which is a laborious process ) and that obviously is not complete;  I'll keep you posted on my progress !

Help with a MicroSD card problem on Rock 64
Posted by: Jakr - 08-10-2017, 04:01 AM - Forum: Linux on Rock64 - Replies (6)

I recieved my Rock 64 yesterday. Using a Windows laptop, I downloaded a couple of images for the Rock 64
I formatted a MicroSD card with SD formatter, then burned a image, using win32diskimg, all in windows {using a usb sd card reader/writer}.

It all went great, plugged the card in the rock 64, and booted up, no problems.

Here is my problem ... once I put a microSD card into the Rock 64, and boot it up .... I can no longer put that Microsd card back into the usb stick, and have it recognized,

I plug the usb stcik into the computer )windows, or Rock64 .. they recognize usb reader/writer, but not the MicroSD card inserted into it.

I will note, when I take the microsd card out of the usb stick, and put it back into the rock 64, the card works fine .. so the card is not destroyed ..it is like .. the rock 64, once it boots up with the microsd card .. it sets some kind of .. bit or something, stopping it from being seen, in a usb reader/writer.

I have tried it with 2 MicroSD cards now ... I also have tried plugging the usb stick into the Rock 64, with a MicroSD card, that was used previously in a rock64, same result.

I have no idea why this is happening. I have re-written microsd cards many times, for the pi 3, never a problem.

I have not expanded the microsd card, to use all the space on it yet .. but can't see why that would make a diffrence.

I am a relative newbie, when it comes to Linux, so maybe this is just something I don't know {although, as I mentioned, never had this problem, with my Pi's.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Jake

  Power input polarity
Posted by: brabtob - 08-10-2017, 02:57 AM - Forum: Rock64 Hardware and Accessories - Replies (1)

It might be a dumb question but what is the polarity of the DC input on the Rock64, I forgot to order a PSU at the time of purchasing so I have to source one. I haven't founded it stated anywhere.

Has someone managed to get Docker running yet?
Posted by: Sven - 08-10-2017, 02:45 AM - Forum: Linux on Rock64 - Replies (17)

I tried to get Docker running, but it doesn't work as posix mqueue is not enabled in the kernel (using ayufan's Xenial minimal image).

Before I start trying to solve that myself, which hopefully only involves compiling the kernel with mqueue configured, I wanted to ask if anyone else got Docker running or if someone knows if there is a reason why mqueue isn't enabled.

  Pine64 laptop sound?
Posted by: bobn9lvu@sbcglobal.net - 08-09-2017, 02:39 PM - Forum: Pinebook Hardware and Accessories - Replies (3)

Is anyone working on the sound out on the laptop? Iether the internal speakers or headphone would be nice, and a line out would be great too! Cool

  That's good value!

Expidated shipping well worth the cost
Posted by: Jakr - 08-09-2017, 08:40 AM - Forum: General Discussion on ROCK64 - Replies (3)

First, let me say.. I (or Pine, I am sure) can say my experience will always be what happens, I am sure, but...

I ordered my rock 64 with expidated shipping, it shipped out on the 5th (today is the 9th.  In response to a post in another thread, I mistakenly thought it shipped the 1st ... My mistake, confused it with other orders from China, in 17 track....

Anyway,
My rock 64 is now sitting at my local post office, to be delivered tomorrow (missed getting it today, by 40
Minutes.

So, with expidated shipping, the rock 64 made it from China, to my local post office, in 5 days. Very impressive.

Jake

Can't edit the post, but in first line ...

Should read can not.
