U-Boot or Tow-Boot for PBP
#1
Information
Hi all,

I’ve got U-Boot on my PBP, Tow-Boot on my Pinephone & I’m looking for opinions on which you prefer & why.

I voted Tow-Boot, as I want to move away from U-Boot.
But I have the suspicion Tow-Boot not stable yet.

See this example: https://twitter.com/mikecodemonkey/statu...0758075397

But again, I would love to switch to Tow-Boot, once I consider it stable.

Booting with Tow-boot & Manjaro 5.19.1 without issues.

Thanks so far for your input, I’m just trying to get more information, before I settle on one for my PBP; it’s the last piece of the puzzle, if you know what I mean.

At this point, I don’t have enough experience with either to make an informed decision; I’ve read the manuals, but I would like real user opinions, experiences & I thank you for your time.

Tow-boot is on SPI, various distros on SD cards & Manjaro on emmc (as long as I get any distro (I would prefer void Linux) to work as I would like to have). Some functions like audio, newer kernels or riverwm not working yet on other distros beside Manjaro.

Hello,

I am using tow-boot on my pinebookpro (SPI installation).
I installed manajro on the emnv.

Everythings is ok for me, just on each boot I have to go to the tow-boot menu and chose to boot to emnv.
