Main Board Swap: Camera connector problems
#1
Hoping there is someone that can shed some light on these connectors for the cameras. I popped off the hinge (on a braveheart edition) to remove the ribbon connector, but I'm having problems getting it to clamp back down on the new main board revision.

In the video with Martign Braam installing a new board, he conveniently has the cameras preinstalled yet this is the part that I'm having the only problems with, and of course that is the part the factory did for him (probably because it's a pain).

They appear to be just hinged and not the ones you have to flip then slide it in to lock but I'm putting a lot of force and it has started to flake off some of the plastic so I'm afraid of going further.

EDIT:
Looks like the camera connector will not have an audible click when it is pivoted down. After pushing the ribbon all the way in (make sure to do this) with the clamp up, begin to push the clamp part down and it will cause a "ratchet" motion when you reach about 45 degrees with the clamp. After which it will continue to push the ribbon down without snapping into place and it will impart pressure down to keep the ribbon connected... at least that is what I'm guessing as i haven't been able to get mine to turn on. My board might be DOA. I'm not getting the screen on yet with the factory image still on there or the jumpdrive image loaded onto an SD card. Anyone else have a dead replacement board?

I received my new board but I have only looked at it,  I have not installed it yet.

But I 'think' some members have said this replacement mainboard comes with no installed system...  ?

Perhaps someone who has already done this will please speak-up.

@tyha

Have you attempted to boot from a sd card yet ?

Yeah it appears it doesn't have anything installed on it (does that mean it wasn't tested then?) Support got back to me and informed me that there is a new jumpdrive image that works with the new board and it was now able to flash the emmc. I had an older jumpdrive image on my sd card that worked with the braveheart edition.

Going to mark this down as solved but hopefully it will help people when they get the the ribbon cable clamps. I'll update this if for some reason the cameras don't work after booting into the OS tomorrow.

Yes, comes with no installed system, but boots from sd, and flashes to emmc with 3gb jumpdrive

ps - also check the little rubber "shroud" around the front LED, proximity sensor & ? is migrated to the new board (or in fact easier to locate in the case) if it sticks to the old board when you remove it.

My mobo came with nothing usable on it, no problem burning an image via currant jumpdrive.

Didnt have any particular problems with camera connectors - they just open from cable side rather than back side like the other 2 connectors.

As far as the camera goes, I had no trouble getting it connected and clamped properly, so you're on the right track.

There is no OS on the emmc to boot from, and since it's a 3GB/32GB mainboard, you'll probably need to update your JumpDrive to version 0.6 to support this mainboard.
