Ok, do you start Chromium from the panel (at the bottom), or through the menu?
Chromium starting from the panel spoofs the user-agent. You can try to alter it to spoof a newer version (right click > properties). Did you try to update Chromium with the package manager? I had the same happen, but it seemed it happened when I started Chromium before the network connection was established. When I quit Chromium, then reconnect the WiFi and restart Chromium it worked.
