Hell yes!
Quote:2) ANSI and ISO keyboards - Del key placed next to Alt Gr and <- arrow key. No right Ctrl.
I don't love this (again, I'd prefer to have rctrl there and have del either added to the fn row or be soft in fn+backspace).
Having said that, I will be perfectly happy so long as it can be remapped
All the best,

About the del key, I prefer to have it separate in the function key row. If the function keys become narrower as a result, I don't mind.
Something like this:
Things I like about the layout in the original news post: - FN+ up/down for Page up/down (common to other laptops I regularly use)
- FN+ left/right for Home/End (common to other laptops I regularly use)
Things I like about the layout in this post: - Ctrl between ALT and Left
- Del above Backspace
Things I don't mind about the layout in this post: - The location of Page up and Page down (I prefer the one in the original news post, but this one is also OK)
Things I would change from the layout in this post if I could: - Move the power button elsewhere (I think that having the power key so close to keys I use frequently is a hazard)
- Move the Del key to the place previously occupied by power key (this matches other laptop keyboards I commonly use)
Other than that, I like this layout as-is.

We'd like your feedback on desired key placement on the Pinebook Pro ANSI keyboard.
We are currently considering the following:
- \| key above return key
- Del key is Fn + backspace
- Right Ctrl key placed at right Alt and <- arrow
Suggestions, ideas and alternatives welcome!
Whoops, I forgot in my other comment to indicate that I like the \| key above the return key (single-row return key, that is) but I'm not a fan of FN+Backspace for Delete. I definitely prefer CTRL between ALT and <- versus putting Delete there.

Will this keyboard have full-size 19mm horizontal key pitch? This is at least as important to me as the layout; maybe even more-so. Some aspects of the layout can be tweaked in software, but you can't convert a "compact-layout" keyboard into a "full-size-layout" keyboard with software alone. I've found that even a keyboard with 18.5mm key pitch throws me off.

Ok, so based on your feedback the follwoing decision was made:
[edit] 1) concerns ANSI
1)\| above return
2) Right Ctrl stays
3) Fn + Backspace = Del
Thanks for the feedback!

Here is what we have:
1) ANSI keyboard - \| above return
2) ANSI and ISO keyboards - Del key placed next to Alt Gr and <- arrow key. No right Ctrl.
Everyone happy with this?
Seems fair, it's still a 14" compact keyboard. Could it be possible to have "blank" keys with stickers so that we can map them the way we want ? That's way no more hurdle to sell it for everyone's taste.

We're exploring something to this effect. This, however, depends on users being able to use the kb firmware reprogramming utility on their own - so we're working toward getting that sorted and user-friendly. More info in due time.
I like this idea

Then at least make available some preprogrammed configurations (QWERTY, AZERTY, ...) but also a menu for custom configuration for advanced users. Thanks for considering my inputs.
