Will it be possible to upgrade the Pinebook Pro if/when a newer model is released?

Basically just wondering if it would be possible to replace parts in the Pinebook Pro with parts from a newer model, assuming one will even exist. Specifically the main board. I imagine a new laptop using the Quartz64 board is inevitable.

The option has certainly been posed before, but it's of course subject to change depending on a variety of obstacles that could occur during design and development of the next iteration of the PBP. We won't know for sure until Pine starts announcing plans for its followup.

An upgrade path was announced for Pinebook to Pinebook Pro and dropped after failing to overcome heat problems. Will it work next time? We don't know.

BTW: I don't have any insider information, but my bet goes into a future RISC based laptop ("Pinestar Pro" Smile).

I hope you're right.

I wouldn't mind seeing a PinePowerPC A1000 (but it seems ACube is already building that minus the Pine)
