That is, you need to download and burn an image from the directory to the SD card WITHOUT specifying "EDK-EFI" in the directory name. Check the launch of the EDGE and CURRENT versions. And show the UART log when launching the EDGE and CURRENT versions. For the files: 1. 20221101-current/Armbian_22.11.0-trunk_Quartz64a_jammy_current_5.19.17.img.xz 2. 20221112-edge/Armbian_22.11.0-trunk_Quartz64a_jammy_edge_6.1.0.img.xz I've downloaded both files. Had to change baud rate to 115200 and 9800 for 1. and 2., otherwise the output on the serial console was all unreadable. Both times the boot didn't reach login shell. I've attached the logs. EDIT: seems like the the first log file kernel-5-current-115200baud.log contains logs for kernel version 6.1.0-rc4-media. I'll redo the test and post the log again. EDIT 2 : I've removed the wrong log file and uploaded the log file 'kernel-5-current-115200.log' for the correct image.

Judging by the log files, there is no useful data there. How and where is your UART console connected ? Which USB-TTL chip do you use? Have you tried changing the contents of SPI before ? What other Linux versions have you checked before, what does the UART console show with them?

I'm using the Woodpecker from Pine64 store:
Quote:The “Woodpecker” Edition Serial Console powered by CH340G chipset enabled simple USB to Serial communication for PINE64 related project development. I've connected it to USB 2.0 port of Raspberry Pi 4 (model B) and (of course) to the pins of UART2 of the Quartz64. I'm also using the program picocom. Quote:Have you tried changing the contents of SPI before ?No, and I don't know how to do that. I don't have experience with embed hardware. Using the serial console on Quartz64 was my first time. Quote:What other Linux versions have you checked before, what does the UART console show with them?Last year around this time I've used an image from Manjaro, booted successfully using the Woodpecker (maybe I changed baud rate manually again) and ran some benchmarks, then set the network interface and the ssh daemon. I've since deleted the image file and couldn't find the working version again after several tries and downloads of images. As a side note: there was a brief thread recently where another user also mention he had trouble with UART connection on some distribution: https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=17131 When I have more time (in a week or so) I'll try what the previous user mentioned - building an image from your repository and see what happens.

@bosi564 I looked at the info on the link in your message and, apparently, you have a defective Quartz64a board. There may be a problem with the power supply of the device. Have you tried other power supplies ?

Quote:Have you tried other power supplies ?No, I haven't. I don't have other power supplies with barrel jack. I'm doubtful I'll find anything before the end of the year too.

I am attempting to run Armbian on a Pine64 Quartz64. I haven't read through all of everyone's forum posts, and this might have been addressed...
I found: https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=16312 which links to https://users.armbian.com/balbes150/quartz64/ from there, there are a number of relatively recent disk images for Quartz64 model A boards. I am able to get just about any of them functioning; e.g. burned to emmc or sd, and the board is able to boot. The two issues that I have noticed are: + The board is an 8GB mem board, but for some of the images, it appears to the system to only have 2GB + General performance for any of the images is abysmal From balbes150's images: using, Armbian_22.11.0-trunk_Quartz64a_sid_current_5.19.17.img.xz, GeekBench produces... --> https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/19280197 Even forcing the board to run at max Mhz (1800), the performance is still the same. Has anyone else seen similar performance issues and incorrect memory being reported? Thanks in advance for the help...

Following up on my own post. I chatted with a few Pine64 folks on Discord, and they agreed that the benchmark numbers are reasonable for the Q64a and the memory issues maybe because of u-boot that Armbian uses.

Show the UART log and the exact name of the image where the 2 GB memory is displayed.
