beware chatty 0.7.0~rc0-1

chatty 0.7.0~rc0-1 made its way into bookworm about Oct 26 but is not usable - the bottom of the window hides behind the keyboard so you can't see what you're typing, nor the message to which you are responding.  If that matters to you, hold-off on upgrades until that is resolved (or do an apt-mark hold chatty beforehand?)

I confirm this problem, it's very annoying. You can type your message in gedit or another editor, copy and paste it in Chatty but treebeard's suggestion is less cumbersome and preferable especially if the latest release candidate contains nothing really necessary for you.

Chatty 0.7.0~rc1-1 should resolve the issue, and is in unstable now and should roll to bookworm in a day or two.

Yes it works, I've just updated Chatty. Don't forget to restart it obviously. I feel better now

Working here too, though I'm seeing that it now takes a couple minutes to process a received MMS message so that needs some research.

Do you use a single APN for the Internet and MMS?

I have a T-Mobile SIM in the phone where that was occurring and it uses one APN for all.  The problem turned out to be due to a relatively recent change at T-Mobile and is resolved.
