Broken eMMC boot

I have a PBP (2021 batch) and screwed up the original Manjaro KDE eMMC image with some combination of cups and display resolution mischief. I have been using Armbian successfully from a microSD card but want to fix my eMMC boot. The only image of Majaro that targets eMMC specifically is this one, but it's way out of date. I have since tried to update packages etc but am running into pretty difficult challenges getting things updated to a point where I could update the OS to a current version (namely I can't access the current mirror list). This is preventing me from using the manjaro-arm-installer package that would help update OS. Has anyone else run into this issue and solved it? Or is there another OS with a current eMMC version?

you don't need an emmc-installer img if you have a working Armbian on your SD. Simply boot into Armbian, download the more recent image from here: https://manjaro.org/downloads/arm/pinebo...de-plasma/ then mount your emmc and write the img to it using dd in Armbian's terminal

all fair points, unfortunately I forgot to mention that with the old version of Manjaro KDE running on eMMC, any OS I put into my microSD is not recognized (power light stays red instead of transitioning to green).

the easiest solution will likely be to remove the bottom cover and use the switch to disable the emmc. then you can boot into the SD img, flip the switch to enable the emmc again, and rebind it so the SD install sees it (bind commands can be found in the wiki)
