Is not the HL-2240 a rather older printer? Maybe 12-14 yrs old?
There are a few brother printers that have been reverse engineered,
and the filter driver compiled for aarch64 or armhf
These are mostly (all?) laser printers
When you print a test page, it shows ppd used, middle of page, 2/3 down
For a HL-2140, running under x86, this is filter driver
/usr/local/Brother/lpd/rawtobr2: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV),
