Just in case I didn't misread your reply, I was pretty confused and thought it was already fixed, but there is currently no word on the updated adapter board and you will receive the current version.
That's the one that presses against the trackpad when used as-is, with the retainer and an 80mm drive.
I do hope we see the updated adapter soon, and hopefully with some kind of built in power protection to keep the drive from draining the battery too low.
