It *may* be worth trying to boot one of the ayufan images, as I've noticed with my 11" pinebook that newer os builds like manjaro, etc are not correctly configuring the charge PMIC, and it's not charging the battery at all. As I was trying them out on the SD card, I reverted to the older ubuntu 16.04 ayufan build on the eMMC, and charging resumed normal operation about 10 seconds into the boot. If you can get it to boot that far, you might have a chance of getting the battery to charge if it's still salvageable.
Too late! I ordered a new battery yesterday, and threw the old battery in the recycling bin in my way to work...
