If you really want a window manager, Bullet64, it turns out i3 will work as of 0.7.9.

1. Install an Ubuntu Bionic minimal image (which you already have)
2. `sudo /usr/local/sbin/install_desktop.sh i3`
3. Uh, learn i3? I'm taking a lot from https://fedoramagazine.org/getting-start...w-manager/
