AFAIK only mrfixit actually wrote the uboot package to "right" place, manjaro, as is
common dumps it into /boot,, THEN you are supposed to do the dd write yourself
Fot the OP, if there is an automatic reboot, update ONLY uboot (and do the dd write),
then do full update
How you are supposed to know all this, I can't imagine

Someone please put this in the wiki, or something!
