Will it be possible to upgrade the Pinebook Pro if/when a newer model is released?

An upgrade path was announced for Pinebook to Pinebook Pro and dropped after failing to overcome heat problems. Will it work next time? We don't know.
BTW: I don't have any insider information, but my bet goes into a future RISC based laptop ("Pinestar Pro"  ).
