I'm now on Mobian-Phosh running bookworm. Possibly I somehow had the wrong IP in the bad old days? ??

Anyway, I tried it again after many moons:

$ip a
to find the ip

Code:
$ssh mobian@192.168.0.68
on the laptop, and it connected and has been working perfectly. No fuss, no muss.

Go figure.
