Pinebook Pro & PinePhone shipping progress (2020)

[edit 9 June] If you originally selected Asendia, it is now possible to change to DHL shipping. Once we get 1000 people to switch over from Asendia to DHL shipment will commence. I'll obviously update you on that in due time.

I bet many of us would appreciate occasional updates on the number of people that have switched over to DHL. Wink

And you guys might want to send out a mass email to all the people who ordered Pinephones with standard shipping with their new options.

What a rigamarole... What if you never get 1000 people to switch over or it takes 3 month to reach 1000? Is there a date that they will ship out either way?

@Luke I also am curious about this.  What sort of cutoff dates do you have for this?

Out of curiosity, what prompted the decision to stipulate 1000 upgrades before shipment? I can't imagine this will be any quicker than waiting for Ascendia to get their s*&t together and fulfill their commitments.

You and the team have been super transparent and made all the right decisions up to this point and while I get (truly I do, i've been there) the pressure and stress you're under, I'm a touch confused by the solution from a logistics standpoint.

That said, deep breaths, you're in the final stretch. You've a lot of early adopters here behind you all the way. At the end of the day, it's only a phone, even if it might change the world.
As I understand there is no way to upgrade to DHL in Russia =(
I knew my country sucks but this is too much =(

With the amount of time many of us have waited (pre ordered my CE early April) updates or not, virus or not, I think shipping the product without a thought of asking to compensate for the difference in shipping is warranted. I'm starting to think this is snake oil... I honestly am starting to believe these phones don't even exist...

They exist..
What doesn't exist is a sane world in which to operate in....
Try to be patient. It isn't Pine64 that's the problem. Screwed up world politics that affects we the people, is......
Now it is a matter of sorting through the political crap for a sane and reasonable solution.
BTW, got my PinePhone yesterday and IT IS worth the wait....Which I suspect, won't be much longer, FWIW...:-)

Quote:This limited time shipment upgrade offer only available until June 22, 2020. Once upgrade, no further change will be allow.

lol.. We're giving you 14 days to switch shipping options in which at least 1000 people must've had changed their shipping option or we're not shipping phones. Thanks for clearing that up.
DHL shipping has not gone out fully as this thread status indicates. DHL tracking as per this thread was to be as late as Saturday (6th). I contacted sales@pine64.org for a status.

First contact they said they contacted the logistics team who said it will be shipped "next batch" and I should read the forum; I read this forum before mailing them when it said it was shipped.

I linked them to this thread and said there was no mention of a 2nd batch, what's the status? Response was that the logistics team "missed my order" and I keep asking them for a status on the second batch but I get asked if they can refund my order....

I'd like to get a refund potentially, but I rather someone describe what being 'missed' and having to wait for the second batch entails?

Anyone?
