This is what I was looking for - thanks!

Well, I though this could be useful, so I put it into its own thread.

Yup, I've seen some wonky similar behaviour, even on laptops having slightly different (non-SDIO) broadcom wifi chips. So probably some firmware/driver imperfection causing the Wifi to be slower to scan.

I did give the display out a try in one of our meeting rooms at work (we have a huge bunch of adapters attached on keyrings on the HDMI and VGA cables).

Under Manjaro, nothing except charging (with some adapters did work). USB wasn't even detected, nor display, even with adapters that otherwise worked with the default out-of-the-box Pinebook Pro's Debian (An 3rd-party USB-C to Network and Display combo hub from LMP, though the USB-A hub didn't work. And Apple's official USB-C to VGA adapter).

Seems that the fusb302 is even more tricky than expected. (Or maybe the "display" subpart of the problem is missing stuff in the current Panfrost opensource driver)

Anyway good luck with that to you guys ! (And thanks for what is already achieved).

I don't read anything about the audio in the known issues. However, the switching between headphones and internal speakers is not working properly. In the audio settings (KDE) it says only internal speakers. And I also noticed some crackling in the headphones.
Is this known?

I'm under the impression that Manjaro uses a rolling release cycle, but I am unsure about how this applies to their preview images? Is it possible to update and upgrade from preview 1 to preview 2 and so on until the actual release, or would I have to download each image as they come out and burn them to an sd/emmc?
#54
You can just upgrade your system. However, e.g. in the first preview there were users without any output to the screen, which makes it difficult to upgrade Wink
Hence if you're running it right now, just upgrade it, otherwise it is of course best to start from the latest version.

As the images are preview versions, There are new application installed in the updated preview released.

So it would be better to download preview3 from this link. https://forum.manjaro.org/t/manjaro-arm-...o/111488/4

Once we have a stable version then upgrading the existing image will work just fine.

Anything critical among these new applications in preview 3? Or a log of the modifications between versions ?
(I'm just using pacman -Syu, given that it's more or less "stable enough" for daily use)

Preview2 to Preview 3 is not a problem using this command. He was asking about preview1 - preview3 which had pinebookpro-post-install to be installed and enabled in systemctl.

Instead of pacman -Syu use this. It is much safe
Code:
sudo pacman -Syyuu

Hi,
I'm not sure if I'm on the preview 2 or 3,
I don't see any 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
Also, the first opened app doesn't have the windows controls ( minimize, maximize and close). I attached an image where the terminal was the first app that I opened and the file manager is the second one.
As you can see there are no windows controls for the terminal .

All you have to do is get a working Kde-Plasma Image and remove xf86-video-fbturbo-git then install wayland and switch to wayland on login screen.

Do share your experience with wayland on panfrost

For anyone interested in a follow up, Wayland is a little funky still. I'm getting white overlays on all windows and notifications. The cursor is also a bit off. It seems to forget the context of where it is on a page, like not not recognizing links on a page, or a text box. It seems to restore expected behavior once I move the cursor down and back where I want it. This might be due to missing dependencies, but I wasn't notified anymore were required during installation.

Wayland is working just fine for me with Sway on Manjaro ARM's latest preview.
Just spent a couple of hours setting it up, and the experience is very smooth, certainly much better than XFCE+X.org.
No issues with the cursor or windows.
